Shanti is a little haven of perfect tranquility and only a few meters from the beach. Our room was spacious, clean with thoughtful decor and accessories including some interesting books. I loved the individual paintings both inside and out. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. We arrived extremely early without warning and were offered breakfast immediately which was above and beyond but extremely thoughtful and much appreciated. They had our room ready for us within a few minutes so that we could enjoy our day around the pool. Mr Luis welcome was terrific and it was lovely to meet Manni the owner and share some of his abounding energy. We would highly recommend staying at Shanti and will certainly rebook next time we are back in El Paredon.

Super close to the beach, cute bungalows and even dorm provided good amount of privacy as the beds are separate by a wooden/bamboo dividers. Plus there’s mosquizo nets on the dorm beds. There’s plenty of bathrooms and showers, all clean. And cute upstairs area with hammocks- one of the rooms all covered so is in shade an even ideal for yoga, chill, etc. My checkin was smooth, was given some great recommendations on the area proactively. Next to the place is a small cafe with lovely owners, and everything else truly nearby ( eg surfshop rental, surflessons place) .

The location is perfect. Clean, looks nice! When you order breakfast the coffee is free. But the staff… oh my. Some of the volunteers / staff forgot how to laugh or just be nice and friendly. There is no kitchen / fridge you can use to bring your own drinks / snacks or cook for yourself. Restaurant from the hostel is kinda pricey compared to some of the restaurants in town. But good food, just be patient because it can take a while.

Featuring a spa bath, Willo's Treehouse is set in Escuintla. A hot tub is available for guests. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge.
