The place was beautiful and the owner was so lovely. The rooms are pretty basic but they are clean and smell amazing. The owner is so helpful and the food was delicious. There aren’t windows but the net over the bed kept the mosquitos out. We really enjoyed our stay. Kalpitiya is pretty spread out but we had a motorbike so got around okay.

Wow, what a little gem this place is. Highly recommend letting the Wildhideaway team look after you while you visit Wilpattu National Park. The suite was very spacious even for a family of 4. The bathroom was huge and modern with a nice hot water shower. The plunge pool was delightful, so refreshing. Location was so quiet and the air conditioner worked perfectly so made for very comfortable sleep. They arranged our full day safari at a good price, we didn’t need to do anything but turn up. They packed breakfast and lunch for us and then had dinner ready when we came home! The thing that made this place so special was the warm and friendly service from Anta and his team. Always there with a huge smile, making us feel so welcome, and the food they made for us (as vegetarians) was SO delicious, the best we’ve had in 3 weeks in Sri Lanka.

We spent our first night in Sri Lanka at Twin Waters Resort. It is beautifully tucked away, so peace and silence are guaranteed. We had the beach completely to ourselves, and the pool area is also a wonderful place to relax. The bungalows are very spacious and clean, and the view from the veranda over the river, combined with the sounds of nature, is simply magical. The absolute highlight of this place are the hosts, Edward and Manel. They are incredibly warm and welcoming and speak very good English, as they lived in England for many years. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and clearly prepared with great care and love. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for tranquility and genuinely kind company.

Nirvaan Safari Lodge bevindt zich in Wilpattu met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, roomservice, bar, tuin, terras en barbecue. Het personeel was helemaal geweldig! Ze zijn supervriendelijk en behulpzaam. We voelden ons heel erg welkom. Het voelde bijna als familie. Er zijn 3 naturalisten die zeer gepassioneerd zijn en graag uitleg geven. Ze gaan ook mee op de safari’s. De locatie is heel rustig, weg van alles, en dat is net heerlijk. Op wandelafstand ligt een meer. Hier kan je heerlijk wandelen. Onze laatste avond sloten we af met een kampvuur en een kookdemonstratie in openlucht. Het eten is er heel lekker!

Quiet and peacefull place. The Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Food available a'la carte (pre order is required), tasty, with vegetarian options aswell.

MKS is a fantastic spot to learn how to kitesurf from scratch. It has all elements required, good wind, good equipment, shallow warm waters and best of all, an amazing team of great kitesurfers who hosted us with love! The concept of morning Yoga was also super relaxing.
