Amazing waking up in the morning and the wildlife passes by your room.

The tent is more spacious than expected, with a well equipped kitchen and two sizeable rooms. The unit was immaculately clean, with fresh linens, towels and extra blankets provided. The wood fired hot tub was a fun experience! Located on the lovely Gowan Valley Guest Farm, a gorgeous property where you can enjoy spectacular river views and forest greenery (the short Forest Walk through the property should not be missed!).

We stayed at Protea Cottage, which is well-equipped and comfortable. It's located at the end of the R600, near the entrance to Monk's Cowl area of the Drakensberg. You can access many nice trails directly from the cottage. The view from the porch is glorious, especially at sunset. Cathkin Park is a great location, and we easily filled our 6 days there. We went ziplining, hiking, swimming in the streams, horseback riding at uShaka, and saw the Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey show. We unfortunately missed whitewater rafting and the Boys Choir show. Leslie communicated thoroughly ahead of time about check-in and other details so there were no surprises. We also loved that it was off the grid, but with the solar panels, who noticed? The kitchen had all the necessary items, including a camp toaster and a French press for coffee. Lindsey and Brett don't live on site, but they stopped by a couple of times, and they were friendly and helpful. Their caretakers were there daily and kept everything in good order.

Tugela River Lodge ligger på bredden af Tugela-floden, 22 km nord for Winterton. Der tilbydes indkvartering med egen forplejning 13 km fra naturreservatet Spioenkop og 22 km fra Winterton Museum. We really enjoyed our time at Tugela River Lodge. There’s so many things to do within the property like kayak, mountain bike, trails, and little farm area. It’s very clean and the staff and owner are super friendly and always willing to assist. The farm stall has a lot of supplies, so if you forget anything you wouldn’t even need to drive out. Very pet friendly as well - everything we could do with our little mini dachshund. She loved her time there and the fenced off area is big and safe. The wood-fired tub is an amazing way to wind down. The view is amazing and Bheki always comes to help fire it up ahead of time. All in all a fantastic experience as a couple, and I’m sure it’d be lovely for a family and friends group too!

River and small waterfall/rapid, birdsong provided soothing sounds from nature The Jacuzi bath functioned well. The fireplace provided warmth and ambience The self catering amenities was sufficient. Great Location in midlands/ central Drakensberg from where to explore the abundant surroundings; villages ,eateries, craft shopping; breweries; spa's, scenic waterfalls vistas of mountains sometimes snow capped

Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge ligger i Kruisfontein og har bar. Ejendommen drives af solenergi og tilbyder træhytter i canadisk stil. The property is in a remote part if the Northern Drakensberg. A place of exceptional beauty. It is intimate and feels like a well run family business. Service and meals and staff were excellent. Definitely a bucket list addition No internet -Awesome
