This place was a highlight of our trip through Sri Lanka! It is a peaceful place located next to a beautiful lake, with loads of animals and birds! Roshani is the best host! They built all the lodges themselves, with the most respect for the lake and the animals! She also cooks all the meals herself, and every meal is incredibly tasty! In the morning a fisherman took us on a boat around the lake! Which was a very peaceful and quiet bird spotting experience! We were very sad to leave, and recommended everyone to stay here! There is also a high chance to spot elephants in the area.

The rustic charm and quirkiness of the treehouse exceeded expectations. The staff we’re fantastic and took us on a private safari in Udawalawe (about 25 minutes away) where we got so close to the elephants. They also arranged a guided canoe trip on the nearby lake - sadly no bathing elephants this time but plenty of other wildlife to see. The evening meal we had there was perhaps the best curry I have ever eaten and all of this at exceptionally good prices. We spoke to several people who went to Yala and spent far more, saw far less and didn’t seem get anywhere near the experience we did.

The accomodation was all in all wonderful. The rooms are clean, the personal was very friendly and the pool area nice. A big recommendation: book their safari - it was so nice and very well organised. The breakfast was easy and delicious and you could also order food there during the day. The mosquito net prevented us from being stung and we had both a fan as well as the AC

I was particularly impressed by the helpfulness, friendliness and service attitude of the host of the accommodation. The birds singing at night was absolutely amazing to listen to. The host came by several times to ask if he could be of any help. As an entrepreneur in the same field in Finland, I believe that this place will succeed. The only negative thing was that we didn't have time to stay longer. This must be fixed the next time we come to Sri Lanka.

Everything, every little detail, was just fascinating. The rooms are set in an amazingly beautiful garden, and are very well equipped & super comfortable. Treat yourself to local dinner - so far our best meal in Sri Lanka (and we had many very good dinners before!), don't miss it. As for the hosts - everyone was super friendly and welcoming, we were served delicious tea upon arrival and Leel spoke very good English. As for the safari - we can't imagine a better guide taking care of us. Leel knew the park very well (showed us beautiful places off the beaten path), you could see he cared very much for the wellbeing of present animals and was very knowledgeable about them. Overall, he's a guy that would save you even from a charging elephant.

Such a great place and wonderful hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious - we did the cookery class which was really interesting - I'd highly recommend you do this! They were even kind enough to let our daughter learn how to make the delicious pancakes in the morning. We were a family of 4 and this worked very well for us. The accommodation is simple, but that's absolutely fine as you're busy out doing safari. I'd strongly suggest you book the safari through Amba Kola (we didn't and that was a mistake). The pool is very nice and we were delighted that they have cats and dogs which the children loved playing with. Nothing was too much trouble, we'd highly recommend. Also it's fantastic value for money.
