Room was lovely and airy with a wonderful view of the Rhine and the immediate area. 2 minutes to the cobbled streets of the old town with its preserved buildings and historic atmosphere. The manager and all the staff were charming and helpful going beyond expectation.

The location in a historic building along the Rhine river in old town was superb! The staff was friendly and welcoming. Dinner was delicious. We were able to park across the street for a couple of hours and there is another lot nearby as well. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was pretty standard, eggs made to order. Everything was fresh and stocked. Highly recommended!

Quiet location with free parking on site only a 10min walk to the old town along the banks of the Rhine River. We stayed on the 2nd floor, stairs only, but no problem to us. A very good fan cools the room in hot weather & there are opening doors & windows to the balcony. Comfortable beds & a very modern bathroom. Franz provided home made bread, jams etc for breakfast, which included fresh fruit .Both Franz & Marlene were very friendly & helpful offering tips for eating out & sightseeing. We felt the B & B was excellent value for money in a very expensive country, enjoyed our stay & would recommend it to others.

We did not know what to expect when booking a room in a castle during winter time, especially as the price was more affordable or on par with other accommodations in the region. We were given an upgrade of our room upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. We received a quite big, beautifully decorated room with a very comfortable armchair, and with a bathroom a couple of steps down the hall, which was not that big of a deal, especially when you think that you are in a castle, and castles did not have toilets in the room. Also the bathroom was modern, warm, and super clean so there was absolutely no problem on that end. It is still private. The location was very good for us as we had a plan to see Schaffhausen and Rheinfall and this is just 20 min drive away. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was excellent as well as the wine which was from a winery below the hill. The hotel/restaurant staff were super kind, they really added a little extra to this wonderful experience. In the evening we enjoyed being in the courtyard, enjoying the silence and the view of/from the castle, it felt like we had it for ourselves. We would gladly come back, hopefully someday we will.

It's a quaint and historic village on the Rhine river. Great restaurants and coffee shop places. Good shopping. Little kids train is sometimes running and a great outdoor playground with lots of wooden climbing features. Their festivals are fantastic.

Very quaint town along the Rhein river.

Very quaint town along the Rhein river. Easy to drive to Schaffhausen and Rheinfalls. Also easy access to the boats going up and down the river. We rented eBikes at River Bike in town, and there are some great bike paths (like Stein am Rhein to Diessenhofen which goes through a forest in Germany).

The accommodation was modest but very pleasant. Everything was clean and tidy, with a homely atmosphere. Compared to hotels with fluffy towels and crisp white linens, this felt more like a cozy family cabin in the mountains. The same for food: Breakfast wasn’t extravagant rich, but lovingly prepared by the owner, who served coffee and tea with a warm smile and a friendly chat. A very nice experience. The place is the best, few steps from centrum. Thank you and see you next time.

Our family had a wonderful stay in the Junior Suite. Many thanks for setting it up for our little family (5 year old and 2 year old). The room was large and beautifully renovated. The location was absolutely perfect and central to see Stein Am Rhein. There is also a large and convenient bike garage which was super helpful for us as we were traveling by bicycle.

Extremely nice and kind hosts. The room and bathroom are very well and practically, equipped. Good breakfast. WI-fI works very well. Excellent location, in the middle of the old town. Even if the hotel does not have its own parking place, we parked on the street 50m from the entrance at a very reasonable price.

We spent a nice stay in the hotel as we expected. The hotel is traditionally old, charming and historical. The room is big and very clean. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant: the meals were good and the staffs were very friendly. We like this hotel and expecting to come back again.
