A one storey simple house - from the street front. Inside a perfect hotel. Swimming pool in the bright sunshine, a free coffe, tea any time you want. In the room was fridge, and - although our room faces to the garden - it was quiet and the garden provides relax. For the early mornig excursion you can get a free take-away breakfast.

The hotel is an oasis in San Pedro de Atacama. very well located. the rooms are very clean with nice amenities and extremely comfortable! Everything at the hotel is nicely decorated- the rooms as well the common area. breakfast and dinner as well the drinks are also very good! There is nothing we could have asked more. My husband and I are heavy travellers and we are very picky when it comes to accommodation and especially food. Nevertheless Hotel Desertica managed to tick all the boxes for pretentious guests:). But the staff is what this accommodation is all about. once we got to Calama and took the rented car we headed to Jumbo supermarket to buy some things. once we exit the supermarket our car was broken in and all our stuff stolen- electronics, clothes, shoes, literally everything!! I called the hotel to tell them and to ask for their help and they immediately asked to talk to the police and facilitate our communication with them. once we arrived to the hotel every member of the staff acted so kind and empathetic. They always went above and beyond to help us and feel better despite what happened. And all that effort they put in really worked. they made a huge difference in our mood for this holiday. We could not be more grateful and we do not know how we could ever return the favour. Cristobal, Silvia , Carolina, Estrella, Freddy thank you for everything! Thank you for being part of our journey!

The breakfast was excellent. It's served in a cozy dinning room; you are greeted by a hostess who will serve you a morning beverage of your choice and ask what hot breakfast dish you would like. If you need to leave the hotel before breakfast is served, you can request the reception for a snack bag the day before. Comfortable bed! This is a very secluded, quiet and secure property. It seems that all rooms are in their own spacious cabin - very clean, cozy and well decorated. During your stay you can reach the reception via WhatsApp for any questions you may have. It's worth the location but you do need a car. It is about a 5 minute drive from the downtown area of San Pedro. I'm glad I chose this hotel as it's away from the dusty town, light and noise. Staff is excellent!

First of all a great thank you to the staff around Cristian and Carola and the whole team at Terrantai. It was amazing to stay in your great hotel in the middle of San Pedro de Atacama in the last 8 days. I liked the daily wine tasting which helped to get in contact with others who also stay in the hotel and visit the Atacama desert. Breakfast had everything you need and it was calm and relaxing beside the nice pool.

It’s a new hotel, still being built. The room/tent is beautifully set, every little detail thought of. Exceptional decoration, bed linen delicious, very comfortable. Staff extremely competent and amicable. Everything we asked for was addressed promptly. The food at the restaurant is superb (albeit portions too small for my husband).

I was very fortunate to have made been provided personal guides instead of a group experience. Hats off to Cristina and Rodrigo. You are both knowledgeable and know your craft. Thank you to Cascada Expeditions for booking the tours. I particular enjoyed the Termas de Puritama Hotsprings. I am particularly fond of viewing Vicunas and llamas. To sum up, the Earth around SPDA provides us all a rare gift with this geology and fauna.

A tourist ghetto, meaning tons of tourists but also lots'a restaurants, travel agencies and such ~ Half-a-dozen excursions all the agencies offer, the geysers was very good, the other two we took were pretty okay ~ Red Stone and Flamingos, to be specific ~

I drove into town from Calama and arrived at night.

I drove into town from Calama and arrived at night. Big mistake. The place is so disorienting especially when the directions app WAZE sent me straight through the heart of town thick with people in the streets. This is a party town and people are serious about it. There is much to do in this part of Chile and lots of tours you can sign up for. If you’re driving make sure to keep an eye on the gas gauge as there’s only 1gas station for 100 miles. Also, I stopped in Calama and bought provisions at the Unimarc and made sure to get and carry WATER with me. I took 4 gallons. Bring a hat, the sun’s intense. Enjoy!

The town and tours were incredible.

The town and tours were incredible. We have left feeling that we have been to a truly unique destination. Everyone was super friendly, the tours organised to ensure pick ups went smoothly with drinks and nibbles in the most awe inspiring places. We were also fortunate to have brilliant guides and drivers. Importantly, we feel that this is a destination that would suit the more nervous traveller as everyone goes out of their way to help and guide.

San Pedro de Atacama was one of the most beautiful surprises from the 65 countries I’ve visited. I can’t recommend it enough. Nature is truly at its finest here, with breathtaking contrasts everywhere you look -- from otherworldly landscapes to serene lagoons and dramatic geysers. The beauty is endless, and words barely do it justice. A destination that stays with you long after you leave.

Even though this hotel is located a bit outside of the center of San Pedro de Atacama, it has everything you need: the most welcoming staff who is very helpful with all the information you need, perfect breakfast and modern cozy rooms. They even offer the dinner if you want and the transport to the town at the scheduled times. The place was easily accessible if you have your own car. We would definitely recommend this accomodation to anyone visiting Atacama.

Our stay at Pirca Hostal was very nice, the garden is amazing and the rooms are clean and spacious. There is also a kitchen you can use and the hostal is located in the centre of San Pedro de atacama.
