We loved the privacy of the Rooms along with being able to have all our meals delivered to our room at no extra cost. The bonfire and marshmallows on our terrace each night is a bonus touch that is much appreciated. The staff are helpful and friendly.

My stay at VIAJERO GUATAPÉ as a solo traveler was simply exceptional, and much of that was due to the wonderful team that makes this place feel like home. From the very beginning, Dani, the host, welcomed me with warmth that set the perfect tone for my stay. Not only was she incredibly kind and professional, but she also organized a range of activities that made my time there incredibly fun. Thanks to her creativity and enthusiasm, each day was filled with opportunities to socialize and enjoy, making my solo travel experience all the more enriching. The bar staff, including Wendy, Richie, and Germán, deserve special mention. Wendy, in particular, stood out: her friendly demeanor, positive energy, and charming disposition made every moment at the bar a true pleasure. From the first minute to the last of her shift, Wendy was an exceptional host, always attentive and with a smile that brightened the atmosphere. At the reception, Ari, Tequila, and Alejandra provided impeccable service. I want to especially highlight Ari, whose helpful and courteous attitude, combined with enviable efficiency, made her one of the best receptionists I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Additionally, Tequila, Ari’s pet, added a special touch to my stay with her friendly and affectionate nature, making every interaction at the reception even more delightful. I had the pleasure of meeting Diana, the chef, who displayed a unique charm in her personality alongside excellent professionalism. Her dishes were not only delicious but also reflected a genuine passion for cooking. The way she combined flavors and presented each dish made every meal a memorable and special experience. In summary, VIAJERO GUATAPÉ is an incredible place, not just for its facilities but also for the human touch of its team. Each staff member contributes uniquely to making the experience unforgettable for a solo traveler. I will undoubtedly return!

The hotel offers exceptional service from check-in to breakfast, the pool, the jacuzzi, and all the staff. From Medellín, you can take buses to Guatapé from the North Terminal. After passing through the town of El Peñol, look for "Baja la Zulia," and the hotel entrance is 100 meters ahead. Getting to and from the hotel is easy. We took the shared taxis that pass along the highway, and for 4,000 pesos, you'll arrive in Guatapé in less than 10 minutes. Thank you so much for the stay; it was the best part of our trip to Medellín, and I hope you enjoy the drone footage we took of the hotel.

This is perfect for couples looking for a relaxing retreat from Medellín or just a long weekend. A very beautiful city to visit, very picturesque, with beautiful views, its streets, the plazas, its architecture, its restaurants—especially the Pato de Oro, a very nice restaurant with friendly staff, its location next to the main park, and the food is not expensive. Highly recommended.

Guatapé should absolutely be on your travel bucket list—it’s a destination that offers a mesmerizing blend of natural beauty, culture, and adventure. Nestled in the Colombian Andes, this colorful town is surrounded by breathtaking views of lush green mountains and the shimmering expanse of the Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir. Whether you’re climbing the iconic El Peñol rock for panoramic vistas, strolling through the vibrant streets adorned with ornate zócalos, or gliding across the serene lake on a boat tour, every moment in Guatapé is infused with charm. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, soak in the scenery, and feel genuinely connected to nature and local life. However, the only negative to say is that many roads are not paved, which is due to the government's and private conflicts, for such a tourist area is a shame to see that. Hopefully it can improve.

Super great local lake getaway vibes.

Super great local lake getaway vibes. Take a boat tour of the lake (sizes range from a private solo tour up to a big party boat); climb the gigantic rock if you don’t mind the 650 steps up & down; visit the vegan restaurant a couple blocks off the main square; talk to the locals - they’re super friendly!

Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10.

Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10. It’s the complete opposite of the city though so it depends on what vibe you are looking for. I definitely would recommend staying at the Brown’s if you are spending a night or two in Guatape. We went there for dinner and then again to spend the day at the beach club snd it was amazing.

It is a full house and perfect for a family staying for a few days. For us, or anyone staying one night, I would say this. It is difficult to find after dark, but the owner did send a tuk tuk to get us after we couldn't find it.

What a great place to visit.

What a great place to visit. We are coming back to climb Piedre del Penol and spend more time with the friendliest people I've ever met with beautiful zocalos, art, restaurants, I can't say enough good things.

We chose the Zócalo Campestre Hotel because it is located close to the main attraction of El Peñol. We were very lucky not only with the location, but also with the hotel staff! Natalie, the hotel manager, was always in touch and helped us with all requests and questions! A beautiful tranquil hotel only a five minute drive from La Piedra. It was about a 10 min drive into the centre of the Guatape town. Amazing size rooms, unbelievably comfy beds, really quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious, and we loved our balcony. The staff were also lovely and very helpful. They helped us organise a boat trip, jet skis and a massage!

The hotel is on the water with really a really nice view. We saw some interesting birdlife too. The staff are very friendly and the house is clean and comfortable. The shower was great! The location is excellent, just under the rock, and it is really easy to get into Guatape by tuk tuk.
