can’t say enough good things about this place! it’s wonderful and perfect in every way. the staff are warm and attentive, private chef made us curated meals, there was even a private jacuzzi embedded in the jungle! A must stay for anyone traveling in the area

Great location for hikes in all directions, setting in a beautiful garden, absolutely quiet. The hosts treat you like family. We stayed there before (in double room in the garden) and after (in the suite which is actually the former home of the founder of JS) our Chirripo trip. Internet was working pretty good even for streaming movies (with some interruptions). Don’t miss the garden tour and the mirador in the upper part, you get a good view on the dimension of your 1st Chirripo day as well as on Cerro Ventisqueros, the second highest mountain of Costa Rica. Also nice to watch birds.

We absolutely loved our stay in Canto del Rio. The first impression we had upon arrival, was the exceptional view of the mountains and the pleasant feeling of peace and tranquility. The location is great since it's located near the town of Rivas which allows easy access to stores and is around 8km from the Chirripó National Park and other beautiful hiking places. We also appreciated the good internet connection despite being in a rural area.
