We were very positively surprised! To start, the view from our room was beautiful (make sure you wake up for sunset!)! Spacious and clean room in a peaceful area (we were woken up only by the swallows). Big kuddo for the shower, the best pressure and "termales" feeling we had in the country! Convenient restaurant on site, with excellent food including vegetarian options. The garden was gorgeous. We spent a bit of time admiring the nearby wildlife it attracted. We also enjoyed the accessible small trails around. Helpful staff and particularly friendly and accommodating owners.

It was the perfect farm experience. We were travelling for one month through Costa Rica and this place was simply magical. It was a real local experience, no other tourists around. The Mendez family, especially Ana, offered a great hospitality. The breakfast was delicious. We spent also time at the pool and with the many animals that the farm has to offer. Ana was also teaching me how to cook with woods and fire. The whole area is very peaceful and has a great variety of trees and flowers. From the farm you can see the Turrialba volcano, which was always a stunning view.

A wonderful area for nature lovers.

A wonderful area for nature lovers. Definitely rent a car; that way, you can easily explore the rainforest and volcanoes. Choose a smaller 4WD, as the roads and tracks require experienced drivers. I drove a regular car, which was manageable, but tricky in some places. Volcanoes Irazu and Turrialba are definitely worth hiking and seeing!

It's an area with many outdoor activities: paragliding, a visit to the Guayabo National Monument, the Trillizas waterfall, a place called Aras to eat, a town nestled in the mountains called Peralta with rickety trains in the park and an old station. There are also spectacular rivers close to the road, the Irazú Volcano, Turrialba, the Durán Sanatorium, and a wide variety of restaurants.
