We are four retired Canadians on an extended road trip through France. Staying at Chateau Druon -- not to mention the beautiful drive through the Pyrénées to get there -- was certainly a highlight of our trip. When Elizabeth and Gilles bought the property, it was a ruin. Twelve years later, it is a little piece of paradise, not to mention incredibly affordable. The artwork throughout the house is next level. The unique and eclectic decor and comfortable furnishings in each bedroom are nothing short of fantastic. Elizabeth's cooking is delicious and her personal service and narration of the reconstruction process were a joy. Thank you both! Very well done. We would definitely stay here again.

A fabulous home where from the initial welcome you know you are somewhere trust special. Sandrine made our 2 night stay an unforgettable experience, giving us all the information we needed to ensure we gained maximum satisfaction from our stay. Her knowledge of the Ossau Valley was so very interesting to hear and the passion and love shown for the homemade jams and breads at breakfast ensured we enjoyed the most incredible spread on both mornings. A wonderful hostess who makes you feel so welcome and part of the home. Everything is thought of, attentive to every need and helpful to provide knowledge and advice in regards to the local area. We arrived at a beautiful location and feel we left a beautiful location having gained beautiful friends. Thank you to Sandrine for making our stay so very welcoming and enjoyable. Christine & Jean Cluade were such warm & welcoming hosts. We felt right at home immediately. The house is spotlessly clean. It has everything you need and more. The garden is beautiful. I love roses myself, so I greatly admired theirs. The location was ideal to visit Pau city (Palace & funicular train), Salies to Béarn (salt water thermal spa) the caves in Bétharram ( Grottes de Bétharram), and the Artouste train 🚆 in the pyrenees We even managed to catch stage 14 of the tour de france 🇫🇷 in Pau I highly recommend Maison en Béarn. 10/10 👌

The house was delightful and the village had great places to eat and was very central for that region of the mountains. Monic’s restaurant suggestions were great and we had some fabulous meals. The room was lovely with a great bathroom and the pool was fantastic, a great place to relax in the heat. Breakfast was particularly good but the best part overall was Monic, our lovely host.

This place is an absolute gem! The most amazing food with some dishes we had never tried that were beautifully cooked and presented. Rooms were spotless, big, comfortable with eco-friendly touches, huge soft beds and windows with fly-screens as well as air conditioning. One flight of stairs to get to rooms was no problem and the bar area was clean, welcoming and provided space for littlies with their own little play room. Set in a charming little village by a small river and next to a great little cafe which is open in the day and serves drinks and food too!
