We loved staying at Malis Castera. It was happy place and a rendezvous point for meeting up with my brother who had been traveling in Spain. Our room was very large and comfortable, with an oversized modern bathtub and separate shower. It was just a short drive to St. Emilion for a little wine tasting. Although we had booked dinner at a michelin-starred restaurant in St. Emillion, we cancelled that in favor of a very tasty family-style dinner at the inn. Our gracious host prepared the tasty dinner himself. The next morning he gave us a tour of the rennovations underway for a large living and dining area and kitche at the "Petite Chateau."

We became friends with Christine and Christopher, wonderful people who tried to make us happy in every way, and personally cooked breakfast for us, as if we were hosts in their home.

We had the absolute perfect stay at Le Prieure de Saint Pierre. We were warmly welcomed by Eric, his two lovely well-behaved labradors, and a glass of rose! Our bedroom was big, clean, beautifully decorated, and the water pressure in the shower wonderful. The pool was open, and we enjoyed a quick swim before we were off to Saint Emilion. Eric helped us with making a reservation, and we had the best French diner we've had in a very long time at l'Envers du Décors. Breakfast in the morning was served in the living room. The food was fresh, good quality coffee, and you have a beautiful view of the valley and the surrounding vineyards. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the neighborhood. Thank you Eric for the welcoming us in your beautiful home!

We were warmly greeted by Julian the owner of this superb property. The room was absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Very spacious with large shower and bathroom area. Spotlessly clean too. Large comfy bed. Lovely views of the valley. The pool area was very pretty and also overlooked the valley. Lots of lovely outside areas to sit and relax in and enjoy the countryside. Parking was a big bonus for us on our road trip. Nothing was too much trouble for Julian. Perfect host. Continental Breakfast was delicious. Wish all the places we stay in was as amazing as this one. Many thanks Julian. We will return.

Typically French but good. The hostess had made all the preserves. The place was a true bed and breakfast and the hosts are warm, lovely and engaging people. They took time to chat with us, and waved farewell as we set off on the next leg of our bike trip. It felt like we'd visited family.
