The Powfoot hotel is absolutely lovely! The atmosphere was warm and inviting and we immediately felt at home. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and the food in the restaurant was divine! The location right on the beach is fantastic too. The rooms are the cleanest I've ever stayed in and it felt like the bathroom was brand new! We loved absolutely everything about our stay and we want to come back soon!

Self catering. Delighted with the welcome package. Location ideal. The beach was just across the road , so couldn’t get much closer !! Local Pub/ restaurant just up the road. Shops a 5 minute drive. Lovely walks and nature parks , even saw some red squirrels!!

The whole house area and hosts are amazing.

The whole house area and hosts are amazing. We had such a lonely time with our girls for a long weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer. The house has everything you need, warm,cosy and homely. We really loved our stay and we will definitely be back soon.

Lovely clean laid back village very friendly people great fish & chips "haggis" deep fried mars bar! Plenty of cafes "our place" has a unique vibe attentive staff lovely food & drinks floral selfie wall spotless toilets. Large Tesco on the way into Annan Westlands has various shooting bookable, a modern restaurant serving beautiful food we had our wedding breakfast meal for 4 here family & dog friendly. Accommodation available to book too Devils Porridge Museum is well worth a covering the 2 world wars Cafe too Moffat, Caverlock Castle

Restaurants shut early.

Restaurants shut early. We had long drive by 7pm only angliars open great food there. Things close to do with the grandchildren. Quater cake cafe excellent for food, friendliness, clean, good value. Enjoyed our stay close convenience store for bits you forgot. Aldi walkable.

Annan is a decent town with some nice bars and restaurants...

Annan is a decent town with some nice bars and restaurants in the centre. It is well located for exploring Dumfries and Galloway and is only a couple of minutes off the main A75 trunk road. Friendly locals and some good shops plus a lovely river area.

Not much to do there although there is a little culture, lovely little town and if driving there are other towns in driving distance. Plenty of shops to go and have a look around in. The river is a small walk from the town which is lovely for a stroll along.

My trip to Annan proved to be a culinary delight.

My trip to Annan proved to be a culinary delight. My breakfast at the Corner House Hotel and my evening meal at the 'Our Place' restaurant were both truly exceptional. Also, the staff could not have been more friendly or professional. I enjoyed exploring the town on foot and although I was pleased to discover the 'Annandale Way', the route had a neglected feel, with some damaged sections of pathway. I also took in a football match at Galabank Stadium which was easily accessible and welcoming.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable , everything I thought of or forgot to pack, I opened a drawer, and there it was. Very quiet location, near the harbour and close to Annan town centre. I could have stayed longer. There was nothing to think about , check in was easy. Everything was either in the very thought-out book left for guests or email sent prior to check out. We planned to eat out etc , but the flat was so comfy we stayed in , cooked, and had a bubble bath.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Powfoot it is a lovely homely hotel and the staff where very welcoming and helpful. We where late getting to the hotel and what I found lovely was that they contacted us to make sure we where okay as we hadnt turned up. The room was really nice as well, very spacious and the bed was comfortable and clean! Breakfast was also delicious and definitely worth the money !
