The room is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The host kindly provides complimentary juice, cake, and biscuits in addition to coffee pods for a Nespresso machine. She replenishes these everyday. The view is amazing overlooking Uig bay with the hills in the background. Just sitting there taking in the view is special. The breakfast is delicious and the portions are generous. There’s also a lot of variety in the menu. The hot-tub is exactly what you need after a day of hiking in Skye and is just behind the property and has a great view of the bay. This is my second time staying here. Highly recommended!

It was in a great location, it was clean and comfortable. It was a little dated but that really didnt matter to us. The hosts had great communication, and it had everything we needed and we will most likely be booking this again next year.

The Skye Earth House is very much a quality option for a...

The Skye Earth House is very much a quality option for a short stay on the Isle of Skye. It is down a long, fairly rough track about 12 miles from Portree and maybe 6 or 7 from Uig. The roads around the island can be narrow and with pot holes, a lot of single tracks but with lots of 'passing places'. To get the best out of a visit to Skye I think that you need to be fairly fit, get your hiking boots on and be prepared for some poor weather. To make the most out of your stay at The Skye Earth House I would recommend stocking up on supplies so that you can stay in to eat in the evenings. We also got fish and chips from Uig to take back. You have far better views than any cafe or restaurant on the island!

Earlish is a farming road, but Uig is very close for a food...

Earlish is a farming road, but Uig is very close for a food shop and a few restaurants. Hundreds of sheep grazing down the street. No Petrol at station the day we were in Uig. Portree is 25 minute drive. Earlish is lovely countryside amid stunning scenery.

The road was better than we expected and it was easy to find...

The road was better than we expected and it was easy to find. The view was nice and the host was friendly. There was no breakfast even though I booked 6 months in advance for 6 people (3 rooms). We had to drive in to Portree for morning coffee and breakfast. The bed was short for us and the duvet didn't reach our necks.

Great alternative to hotel style accommodation.

Great alternative to hotel style accommodation. Appreciated the basic “cooking” facilities provided. Lovely staff. Great location. A small fan a or two would aid circulation for a more comfortable environment or a fly screen on the main door.
