We loved the comfortable bed and the delicious breakfast! There was nothing wrong with the shower as mentioned in an earlier review... It was great! Our host was very accommodating and informative. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. The good parking was a bonus. Oh, and the cake was delicious!

I can only say that I loved staying here. Sarah and Andy are very kind hosts and when I told them I would be arriving by train they offered to give me a ride from the station to the cottage and vice versa on the day of departure. Upon arrival I found a basket with local products in the kitchen which was a lovely surprise. The cottage itself is beautiful and has almost everything you need (the only thing missing being a hairdryer but this is also not listed in the facilities so I brought my own from home). It's very cosy and well-decorated making it a welcoming place to spend time on rainy days and in the evenings. It was also exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable. I loved the view from the bedroom over the fields behind the house. The cottage is located in the heart of the Peak District so it is ideal for an active holiday. A small grocery store and some stores selling local products are within walking distance as well as a few pubs and cafes. If and when I visit the Peak District again I would absolutely revisit this accommodation.

Hope is an absolute gem of a village in the Peak District with so much in the way of amenities. There are 3 great pubs which all do fantastic looking food as well as a convenience store and an Indian Takeaway.

There is a hop on hop off bus that goes round the Peak...

There is a hop on hop off bus that goes round the Peak District, would be handy to use as parking can be an issue at busy times. The Old Hall Hotel was a great place for dinner - staff were amazing and accommodated our group really well. Look out for events taking place in the Peak Cavern (The Devil's Arse), we went to a live music event, which was brilliant. Great hiking routes around Mam Tor, with easier routes as well as harder routes.

Hope is a pleasant village.

Hope is a pleasant village. Having a station is a great bonus, providing the opportunity to travel locally - and beyond - without worrying about parking etc. There are a couple of good pubs and other places to eat.

Hope sits on an A road and is just a few minutes from...

Hope sits on an A road and is just a few minutes from Castleton. It is handy for some really interesting places and good walking routes. Without roadworks it will be three quarters of an hour from Sheffield and the M1.

There are 3 nice real ale pubs, a deli and a couple of lovely cafes. It's a centre for all sorts of outdoor activities and can get busy in the summer. You can see the cement factory chimney from everywhere, but it's not an eyesore.

The Hotel offers good value for money and plenty of parking in close proximity to other more touristy towns and attractions. Staff was very friendly. The tearoom was wonderful. Breakfast was really good.

This is a beautiful cottage in an ideal location in Hope with footpaths very close by. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was modern with spacious shower. Kitchen was well equipped and there were TVs in most rooms.

The location was perfect. Nice lawned area for my dog Barnie and me to relax on. Short walk into Hope a few nice pubs and a good well stocked shop for groceries etc. Five minutes drive to Castleton.
