Communiacting with the owner was a breeze, and the spot itself? Absolutely wonderful! Driving through the breathtaking Welsh scenery is always a treat, and stumbling upon this gem was a bonus. The place is very accessible as just by the road yet surrounded by stunning landscapes, the house was a delight, packed with all the items we needed. The backyard was our dog’s paradise—they made friends with ponies and had a large garden to play in. Secure fencing? Check! They nailed the pet-friendly vibe. And the TV? Gigantic! Plus, the underfloor heating in the bathroom was unexpected but well-received.

wow, where do I start, beautiful property, super clean & comfortable rooms and a wonderful and obliging host. We felt very welcome from the minute we arrived and throughout our stay. nothing was too much trouble, Thank you Heather and for the amazing full English breakfast. . . . and yes, the red kites were amazing too. we will define be returning.

A very nice location with great views.

A very nice location with great views. It is out in the countryside and offers tranquility and peace and an ideal quiet getaway. We travelled by car that will help very much and there is s convenient petrol station just down the road that's very handy especially when exploring the area.

Small village nestled in a valley. Bus stop on main road.

Small village nestled in a valley. Bus stop on main road. Cambrian Way passes through village with access to the beautiful Pumlumon Fach and Fawr with some great views towards Nant y Moch reservoir and beyond in a clear day. A 5km walk away via Banc Creignant Mawr woods is the Nant y Arian visitor centre and feeding site for Red Kites well worth a visit (2pm winter, 3pm summer feeding times). Local pub The George Barrow does very good meals and is run by lovely and friendly people. The Devil's Bridge is approximately 10km hike over Cambrian Way or a short drive away.

11 miles from Aberystwyth which is pretty well a straight...

11 miles from Aberystwyth which is pretty well a straight run so staying here was an excellent base. we priced up hotels in Aberystwyth and not only were they more expensive but the reviews were quite poor. very happy that we stayed in Ponterwyd.

A lovely family run hotel in a local village. Open fire in the bar was a treat after a bitterly cold day in December. Food was great, pool table and good bar with friendly staff made our night. Bedroom was lovely, clean and so comfortable, we slept like babies! A real home from home even though its a hotel, once through the doors you never felt like it was a hotel. Thank you to everyone and those we met, absolutely lovely x

Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The food at the hotel is amazing. The views are beautiful and there is a waterfall which is stunning. Short drive to Aberystwyth, Borth and 5 mins from Devils Bridge

The George Burrows is a fantastic, homely hotel with friendly staff and very welcoming. It's an ideal place to stay for bikers exploring the Welsh countryside and the food was excellent.
