I had been looking forward to visiting Clovelly and staying at the Red Lion for ages and after walking from Westward Ho! was a little tired but the service and the room made me quickly forget my aching body. I had an amazing room overlooking the harbour, a bath to soak in, nice dinner, lovely breakfast in a perfect location.

Location was great. Room was comfortable. In spite of the inn being extremely short staffed we were well taken care of. Food was excellent. We stayed 3 nights and would stay there again.

Everything! We were given a free upgrade to a lovely suite which had a four poster bed, jacuzzi and dressing area. We had dinner and breakfast which was excellent and reasonably priced and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Well equipped home (we seriously overpacked!) it had everything we needed and more. We couldn’t be happier with the cleanliness, the feeling like it was a home and the responsiveness of the hosts. They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The kids had things to do and they even decorated it for Halloween! 10/10 would recommend!

Great location for the Tamara coast to coast trail. We needed somewhere close to Tamar Lakes so this was ideal. Comfortable, warm and immaculate.

I didn't mind location.

I didn't mind location. It depends what you are looking for, but be mindful, there are a lot of single track roads. Ok for car, maybe a bit more troublesome with bigger vehicle. Main towns are about 30 min journey. If you like being away from it all, this is the place for you.

A good base to explore the north Cornwall/Devon coast line.

A good base to explore the north Cornwall/Devon coast line. Plenty of stunning beaches all within 20min drive. Our favourites were, Heartland Quay, Sandymouth Bay and Bude. Lots of nice dog walks locally to. We will definitely be back.

Roads are narrow in places but plenty of pull ins to pass...

Roads are narrow in places but plenty of pull ins to pass other traffic. Great places to visit nearby, and local shops not too far of a drive away. Great beaches to visit in local area and walks to do. Is a good base to stay in to visit Devon and Cornwall.

Amazing house for everyone from children to elderly so much...

Amazing house for everyone from children to elderly so much to do , space to get peace when needed , well furnished from kitchen to decor . We had an absolutely amazing time for my partners 60th . It’s in lovely grounds walking distance to a pub lots of amazing restaurants locally nothing has been missed 🥰
