We’ve been in many properties around Greece and Europe, this one had, if not the best, one of the best host we’ve ever met. The price value worths 100%. They had even coffee capsules for every morning for us. We recommend this property more than anything else in Amorgos. We will go back one day for sure. Walking distance to the port, restaurants, car rental, and a beach. There is a bus that runs sparingly around the island. However, if you want to be adventurous and find historical sites, amazing little towns and hit up the remote nude beaches, you will need a car. In October I paid €60 cash to rent a car for three days. No deposit, no insurance… just a hand shake. It felt like stepping back in time.

EXCELLENT value for money.

EXCELLENT value for money. Host so caring and intetested in his guests. The corner restaurant was very good for an evening meal and the gyros place was great value for money..Bakeries wonderful.You must visit Chora but check where the bus stops to return to port.

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches ( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhere

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good...

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good restaurants, rental properties and cars available. An unexpected extra was live music in a garden setting just steps from our lodging on the hillside above the port. Recommend renting a car and seeing other parts of Amorgos as well. I have been to the island twice and would go again!

Katapola is quiet and charming with a good selection of restaurants around the picturesque harbour. We visited at the end of May when it wasn't busy and the island's landscape was greener and dotted with colourful wild flowers - an ideal time for walkers.

Yoanna and her husband were the most hospitable and joyous owners of this beautiful hotel. The attentive staff combined with a perfect location gives this hotel a 10/10 from us. The rooms were kept really tidy from the cleaning staff, and they were extremely gracious, accommodating and welcoming. We can’t wait to be back to both hotel Minoa and Amorgos. Grillhouse Viktoras is an adorable taverna with a very good menu and super nice owner. Cannot recommend enough having a late lunch or dinner there.

We had a wonderful stay at Porto katapola in Amorgos! The place is cozy, spotless, with beautiful view and a peaceful atmosphere. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed and generous. The location is perfect — close to everything, yet quiet enough to truly relax. We felt at home from the very first moment and would happily return on our next trip to Amorgos. Highly recommended!

Beautifully maintained holiday flats set in the hills a short drive above Katapola. The view was stunning: impossible to tire of such a view! Very peaceful setting. Delicious breakfast of high quality local specialties. And of course, how could we forget to mention the warm welcome we received from Andreas, who provided excellent recommendations for all the best local spots. Amorgos is a gem.

Anzela and Thomas are very welcoming hosts and always available in case of any questions. The location of the property is perfect in the centre of the bay at Katapola only meters away from the beach. The terrace is a perfect spot for sunset. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to come back one day.
