Great place, close to nice restaurants, close to the beach, next door to the hotel they organize live concerts as an additional benefit, they end around 10 p.m., so it's great if someone wants to go to bed earlier or has small children. I will add that the puekies sing, I recommend it. The beach is long in both directions, you can walk to Rethymno. The host was helpful and polite. I highly recommend.

I really like Platanes, it's not too far from the busy Rethymno centre and slightly more relaxed than being near the main areas, but still has nice restaurants and beach bars etc. and good access to main roads etc. if you like to get out and adventure without getting stuck in congestion, which can sometime be found neare to centre.

Tourist destination, really close to the main city of...

Tourist destination, really close to the main city of Rethimno, without the hustle and bustle of the city. And with plenty of car parking! Really nice for summer holidays, having the beach near and everything somenone may need, such as mini markets, breakfast cafés, souvenir shops.

It is typical resort town, with lots of shops, grocery supermarket, taverns, also there is a good drugstore. The downsides are very narrow sidewalks and crazy motorcyclists day and night, like everywhere in Greece.

Lots of tourist shops , car rentals and excursions available The beaches are easily accessible and pool bars are plentiful and free to use if you buy drinks/food. It’s a very friendly resort great for families as many places have child pools or playing areas Everywhere is easily accessible on foot but there is a good regular bus service or car hire is easy to arrange

Lovely town and not changed too much over the years I have been visiting. Lots of restaurants, tour companies and souvenir shops. Good bus service into Rethymno. Beach is a bit stony, so beach shoes were required. Plenty of water activities for the kids (and adults) on the beach

This was the second time my wife and I have been to Platanes. We went for the first time a few years ago and thought it was about time we went back. We enjoyed our visit then but this visit was even better. There is a variety of accommodation available from luxury 5 stars hotels to small apartments and a great variety in between. Many residences have pools but there are golden beaches within a short distance of the main strip and many have tavernas and bars. The main strip has many places to eat and drink and prices are very reasonable. Crete has a great cultural heritage and there are plenty of trips which can be taken. The weather was wall to wall sunshine

Utopia is that type of hotel that in the first 20 minutes you might not like it. But after a day you realize that it is one of the best hotels you have stayed in. We were with a 6-month-old baby and it was wonderful for us: Our baby was sleeping in the room and my wife and I were at the pool (obviously with our baby monitor). We also used the jacuzzi on the terrace, the beach was close, we had parking near the hotel, and the breakfast was a 10. Thank you for everything and congratulations for the quality of services;

We liked everything about the hotel,value for money, delicious and varied food and an ice cream during the day,a clean and large pool, well-maintained territory of the hotel,excellent waiter service. A huge thank you to the waiter, he's always smiling and very polite. The alcoholic drinks include locally produced white and red wine, as well as beer. If you'd like something else, it's an additional charge or you can buy it in the supermarkets.
