The size of the room, the cleanliness, the coziness, and location met or exceeded expectations. The small kitchenette was an added bonus. This is a hidden gem. The house is luxe without being intimidating. The view is spectacular. The staff are lovely without being intrusive. Thoroughly recommend. I actually don't think the photos do justice to the place (which is the opposite of most listings). It is even more special and beautiful in person. I didn't try the dinner but wish I had.

Great little town, friendly and welcoming. Lots of history, beautiful park and marked walk around the town. Free parking with plenty of space. Grocery store, butchers coffee shops, gas station, selection of great pubs and souvenir shops amongst others in the high street. Super little place.

Hasn’t changed since childhood holidays 48 years ago! People still very friendly and welcoming. Love the quick wit and sense of humour. Great village-style choice of pubs, food shopping, restaurants and gift shops. Sense of a real and supportive community. Everyone flexible and willing to help. Easy access from village to multiple sports and beautiful views.

Lovely village, friendly people and close enough to Galway...

Lovely village, friendly people and close enough to Galway City. We had a night out at Powers Thatch Pub and the food and service was excellent. The live music was a bonus, thoroughly enjoyed the Irish music.

This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas. It also has a castle in the area and an association with the film The Quiet Man. It is a friendly town with 2 supermarkets and a number of places to eat.

A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes. A few nice shops. Nice place to stay I'd you're traveling around Connemara. It's about and hour to Kylemore Abby as well as to the ferry or airport that gets you to the Aran Islands. Definitely work a stop if you have some time. Powers is a wonderful pub and restaurant.

Beautiful peaceful location, ideal for touring Connemara. A wonderful setting to return to at end of a busy day to that fantastic view out across the lake. A world away from everyday stresses! A real getaway from it all location! House is very well equipped and host is so friendly and available for any advice needed. We will return and this has been our 3rd visit to this charming house.

This little house is in a fabulous location, a short stroll from Oughterard village. Everything is brand new. The decor is beautiful. Beds really good quality and comfy. We brought our dog with us and she loved the secure garden. The welcome basket was a really nice touch...as was the Nespresso coffee maker. Really quiet and a great night's sleep.

The room was dirty with very cheap mismatched furniture. The view from window was back wall of hotel. The bathroom shower was disgusting with mold. I found the evening meal inedible. I had burger n chips and would have fared better going to Mc Donald's. I paid €172 for 1 room B/B..foolish me

this is a value for money stay in a great central location in Oughterard village Dessie runs the premises and the cafe at ground level and is on hand to assist. there is a shared kitchen facility which is very handy.
