Fantastic hotel and amazing staff. My friend and I loved this place, so much character and charm. It has been beautifully restored and it was a very special place to stay. Beautifully restored Chettinad mansion. Rooms were very spacious with lovely period furniture. Beautiful old photographs of the owners family are displayed through the property and it adds a unique homely touch and takes us back in time. We tried the vegetarian Chettinad saapadu which was awesome. We took a nice evening walk around the village with Mr. Siva who also gave us tips for sightseeing around the region and even arranged for us to see the owners other mansion in a nearby village. The staff went out of the way to make us comfortable.

Phenomenal stay in chidambara vilas. The hospitality was so warm, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The restaurant staff took such special care of my daughter's order. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The people and history of this place were just amazing. The banana leaf lunch was the best we had in our India trip!
