Set in a beautiful 100 year old villa our room was perfect. We loved staying at VM. The staff were delightful, funny and very helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Everything we needed was available. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with warm, fresh focaccia, homemade muffins and cakes, plus fresh cold cuts and cheeses. Eggs cooked perfectly to order and good coffee. Aperitivo in the bar 🍸 👌 😎 🤪 excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Anna Maria was an excellent host. The room was in a lovely town in Tuscany. Our stay was tranquil and we very much enjoyed our chats with Anna Maria. We spent a night in Barga as my wife celebrated her birthday. Everything is as described - view from the room is amazing. Everything was clean, room was very spacious. We visited Barga in November and room was very warm. We learned that this house is quite new, however it has built in Italian style like classic old house, and we felt very welcome. Room was really quiet, but at the same time it is located in the old, beautiful, historic center. Bed was big and comfortable, all amentities were provided (shampoo, shower gel, towels). Julie is a very nice person, we had an opportunity to spent together some time during the breakfast, which was amazing, Julie asked precisely what we want to eat and we were offered such breakfast. Barga is a beatufil place, if we decide to spend once again time there, we will come back to this place.

Barga is quiet, not heaving with tourists, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.it’s a lovely hill top town. We did a couple of their recommended walks…not easy walking. Tourist info office not open Monday through Wednesday, try the travel agency accross the road from The Alpino. Take the bus to Barga from Lucca, as Barga is on a hill and the station is in the valley, a few kilometres away, can’t guarantee taxi either.

The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day. Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.

The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful.

The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful. We would love to come back. We came on a Monday and several restaurants were closed because it was in the beginning of October. It will be nice to be in the town, when all places are open.

Barga is a beautiful town on a hill.

Barga is a beautiful town on a hill. A great place to explore the mountains above Pisa. There was a festival on when we arrived so the town was busy but full of live with live music and great food and drink.

Get away from the madding crowd head to Barga true Italy its so pleasant in the old town has a good selection of bars and restaurants .On the edge of town is a fantastic public pool great for adults and kids ,further down the road is tennis courts and the surrounding countryside is stunning

Barga is a beautiful old town with some stunning scenery.

Barga is a beautiful old town with some stunning scenery. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a market once a week - recommended. If travelling by train, allow plenty of extra time in case of line changes - the cost of train travel is low but remember to validate your ticket on the station platform before boarding. Barga is a fabulous Tuscan location.

Everything, the staff were lovely and so helpful ! Everything in the hotel was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The walk to the old town was easy although there are some steep streets so anyone with mobility issues may find it challenging, just take your time and enjoy the beauty of this amazing town and the breathtaking views ! The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the lady looking after us couldn't do enough for us, we really don't want to leave !!

The location and views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. The beds are comfortable, bathroom is modern/clean and breakfast is good. The staff at reception speak great English and are very friendly and attentive. Plenty of parking also and pretty easy to get to, although be aware that you will definitely need a car, unless you like walking up mountains!
