I liked the spacious rooms. It allowed 3 suitcases to be opened at once. The washroom and shower was large enough to comfortably move around and the beds allowed a good night's sleep.

Location was good, although a few minutes walking distance from major sights and attractions. But all doable by foot or bike and metro station connecting to Kyoto central station is close by (3 mins). Convenience stores around the corner (Family Mart, 7 Eleven) as well as restaurants and a superb (!!!) coffee place (named In the Coffee). Staff were friendly and helpful. Possibility to store luggage upon early arrival as well as late departure. Would be nice to have a safe/lockbox in-room, but we just took our valuables (esp. passports & wallets) with us when leaving the room. Didn't have breakfast or dinner but there were special offers, happy hour and even a DJ hosting the evenings available. Looked nice. Room is small - as expected in Japan - but everything available that's needed and options to store luggage under the bed. Would definitely recommend and come back when in Kyoto again! Arigato gozaimashita, ASAI Kyoto team.

This was one of the most wonderful and unique hotel we haven stayed. The atmosphere, the breakfast, the location, and off course the most helpful and nicest staff , thank you so much for make our stay so special and memorable. We cannot wait to come back Big thanks to the breakfast staff , for makes our mornings so special, the fish was delicious.
