It was my 1st time traveling to Izu Peninsula and bit confused about location for Staying. Pension Surf Rider was the best place to stay surrounded by Lush greenery 🏞and Beautiful Sea. Some details points below: 1. Easily accessible by Tokai bus service (Nearest bus stops are Shimotsuji & Hamabashi) and car (Have good parking slot) 2. Convenience store at walkable distance. 3. Many beaches nearby for Snorkeling and scuba diving. 4. Very neat, clean and soothing place to stay. 5. The owner is very friendly. 6. Neat and clean rooms, Private bathrooms and small open air bath ( be aware of crabs 🦀 in the night time ) 7. They provide you with the detail information map of nearby beaches and activities you can do at beaches. 8. They have many toys for kids. Best place for Leisure Family vacation.

They issued us a wrong type of room and as an apology upgraded us to a room with private onsen. The hotel is a bit old but is clean. Both the indoor and outdoor onsens are nice. The view of the sea from our room is gorgeous. The relaxation room is huge, there are massage chairs, board games, hammocks and lots of books for guests to enjoy. The buffet dinner is great, good variety (Japanese) and delicious. What surprises me is the free flow of alcohol; sake, wine, beer and even whisky! Service staff is helpful and professional. The carpark is opposite the hotel across the road, so it is better to drop off your luggage and travel buddies first.

This place was a dream! We loved our stay with Akiko and Takayuki (and the cats Tora and Haha!), it was a highlight on our trip to Japan. They were such warm and helpful hosts. The house is so so beautiful and tidy, just as was our room. The surrounding nature is beautiful, for example we took a 1,5h nature trail 15min walk from the house. Their onsen was also amazing after taking a swim in the sea, a 5min walk from the house. The location is remote, but that is also a big part of the charm, so we didn’t mind it at all. We didn’t even have a car but managed well! We did our groceries in Matsuzaki, the neighbor town, which was a 10min bus ride away from the house. The house is also right next to a bus stop. Our bus trip to Ecotone from Mishima was mostly amazing scenery of forests and coast. Highly recommend for a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The hotel is fantastic with beautifully on the sea from the morning to sun set . The staff is very helpful and opened. The room is good but the bath room is so small. The restaurant should change each day not every day is the same . The hotel is very close to the Dougashima park . We will recommend our friends to stay .thank you Mr Manager is always helpful.

Seiryu ryokan is a good place to take a break when you r travelling down izu peninsula. Consider taking a break at Heda for spider crab at Restaurant Marukichi. Standby google translate. The owner and the staffa dont speak English, except Japanese.
