Very quiet peaceful location surrounded by nature just past Magome heading towards Tsumago on the Nakasendo track. Perfect for some respite from the crowds in the cities and towns (yes even in Magome and Tsumago). Lovely spacious, modern, clean Japanese guest house with excellent facilities for self cater - full kitchen with several appliances and lots of crockery and cookware, washing machine. Exceptionally cosy with fireplace, heat pumps/air conditioning, heaters, outdoor wood fired hot tub., hammocks. Very spacious incl tatami rooms and outdoor decks. Many amenities provided incl some free snacks and drinks and provision of a few items (bananas, yoghurt, bread, milk) for first breakfast. Amazingly hospitable host who connected with us from time of booking and made sure we had all the info we needed about transport into/out of the area and kindly arranging dinner reservation for us and transporting us there to dine. He even picked us up/dropped us off at train station, ensured we were able to buy the correct train tickets and took care of our luggage while we hiked. Our only regret was not staying more than one night to relax there some more.

As everything in Japan, it was all perfectly organized and the staff was super kind. We had a great experience there, the place is wonderful, the quietness and the unexpected foot bath (onsen) was amazing. Food was also great, everything well explained and with all the support needed.

Assi was a very nice host, and the house was amazing! We were lucky to stay over when we were the only guests, and it remains the best accommodation of our Japan trip. Futons are comfortable, the garden is very pretty, there are many cool and interesting things around the house (for example, some stamps and paper), it is clean and overall very cosy.
