Ako was an amazing and super helpful host. She even came round to make sure we managed to get the only ferry off the island that was running due to Tsunami warnings. Also provided 2 bikes free of charge for our use. Great location - easily accessible by public transport and 2 min walk to beach.

Our stay was truly exceptional. The property is immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and aesthetically refined — it feels like stepping into a dream from another time. Every detail is thoughtful and harmonious, creating a deep sense of calm and care. Breakfast was outstanding: delicious, carefully prepared, and presented with great beauty and attention. The decorations throughout the property were exquisite and added to the feeling of quiet elegance. The outdoor bathtub on the veranda was an unforgettable experience. Sitting in warm water, listening to the sounds of the jungle while enjoying the view, felt both luxurious and deeply peaceful.The host was exceptionally kind, attentive, and patient. We traveled with teenage boys, and despite the noise and disorder that can sometimes follow a family like ours, we were met with nothing but warmth, understanding, and genuine care throughout our stay. This place is rare. We felt truly cared for, and the experience will stay with us for a long time.

The food was lovely, the owners were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. Kimiko drove us to lunch, then to the harbour so we could go on a boat trip. Yuji drove us to the ferry terminal.

The views were spectacular. The beach in front of the hotel was lovely to swim at and the water was nice and warm (May). The beach around the corner by the view point was gorgeous. The staff were extremely helpful. They gave us great recommendations for snorkelling and kayaking tours, advice on restaurants, directions, bus service and booked our reservations. Free pick up service from/to ferry. They spoke limited English and we spoke no Japanese (just a few pleasantries) but they used a translator on their phone to work out what we wanted. Nothing was too hard. There is a dive shop there which does boat tours out to the dive spots. You can also hire an SUP.

This house is one of the few places on the island where you can stay in a modern atmosphere. Great location in the north of Iriomote, close to the port for sea excursions and close to pretty beaches. The host was super-responsive and helped us a great deal with weather warnings and practical information after a couple of power outages (which are normal on this island).
