MUST STAY! The owner is very friendly and speaks English very well, the hotel is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are also clean and come with a smart TV, so Netflix and prime are available. The aircon works well and is quiet and the bed is extremely comfortable.The location is excellent only a five minute walk to the heart of the city where a lot of the restaurants/night market and bars are located.

The economy double room which I stayed may be small, but I felt comfortable. The building had colonial charm and the owner as well as staff were lovely.

I don’t give such high reviews easily, but this is a little gem. On a quiet side street so no traffic noises, but still very close to anywhere you would want to be going in town. The hosts had the answer to any question: Recommendations for dinner? Best croissant in town? How to get from A to B? The wifi was also great. Complimentary drinking water - as much as you need - was nice. But the best thing was the beautiful house, tastefully decorated rooms with super comfortable bed, hosts and good atmosphere.

We had a wonderful stay at Monkey Guesthouse, we even extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much. The place is newly renovated and very clean. The communal areas are great for relaxing in and the whole place has a relaxed and chill atmosphere. The location is very good and is only about a 5 minute walk to the 'centre' of Savannakhet. The breakfast was also very nice. We were also able to hire a scooter at a very fair price as well. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. There is also a resident dog and kitten, so these were just an added bonus. Overall our favourite stay in Laos to date.
