Such a warm welcome in Sisi’s Place, a family run hotel and it feels exactly like that.After the craziness of Colombo it was a breath of fresh air. The breakfast was amazing and so much of it that Sisi suggested we take the rest to our room to put in the fridge for lunch. It’s also very well situated, easy to walk to the shops, the beach and the restaurants. If you miss your train you’ve only got yourself to blame because it’s right on top of the station ! However, that’s what gives this particular location so much charm. There are literally restaurants on the side of the track, it really is something quite special. I would go back in a heartbeat. Also the beach is huge so you’re not at all on top of each other .

The owner who earns money and supports poor and needy people, so if you want to help people in Sri Lanka, it is worth leaving your money with Chami. You can also eat great fish at Villa Chami (I recommend it with tomato sauce). And Maja the dog is the entertainment of the entire Bentota beach, swimming and playing in the waves of the sea. People come to take photos and videos of Maja. A special couple Chami and Maja

A truly exceptional small hotel near one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. We stayed for two nights at first and after a few nights in Galle we returned to Villa Bentota given that the hotel was just so good. The hotel buildings and interiors are really beautiful and clean. The room is cleaned in the morning and the staff also enquires if there is a need to do a second cleaning later during the stay. The surroundings are exceptional. All of the staff at the hotel very helpful (although at least one of them was only in it for the tips) and very professional. Special thanks to Chamod and Malith. The breakfast was amazing and the best we had in the 7 hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka. Lunch and dinner were great as well, offering the option to cook essentially whatever the client likes (of course within limits).

I went with my wife. Very authentic Ayurveda center with 7 rooms. The doctors are very knowledgeable. We have done Ayurveda many times in srilanka and this is one of my favorites. The cave meditation , art theraphy and beach yoga were very special to us. My wife is a Doctor and she Loved it. 🥰

We did not venture into Bentota.

We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

Stayed at Thaala Bentota recently and had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent—right by the beach with easy and direct access, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hotel itself is well-maintained with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a good variety and fresh options. Dinner buffet had fewer choices in comparison, but the quality was still decent and satisfying for the price. Overall, a very good place to stay if you’re looking for beachfront accommodation with good service and a peaceful vibe.

We stayed at Janus Paradise restaurant cabanas it was fabulous food was amazing lovely clean rooms , staff extremely helpful . Food was delicious, pool clean , we arrived during the Sri Lankan new year and was given a beautiful meal for breakfast , it was just lovely. Hotel owner Janus very nice and came to sit with us during our evening stay had a great laugh together what a wonderful host

We arrived after 4 days travelling and adventuring so were ready for a relaxing break. We enjoyed the pool at our hotel and swimming in the sea. It was a beautiful few days spent in a beautiful place. We had dinner one night at Catamaran and sat on the beach with a great mojito watching the sunset - grilled seafood was amazing. We walked the beach every day and it was so nice and we weren't bothered by people selling things. We even saw mama turtle tracks which was exciting!

Our family are very familier with Sri Lanka. We have lived in the country and travel to SL at least once a year since 35 years. This hotel is absolutely one of the best. Nice rooms, good food, wonderful beach in one of the best spots in SL. Every one in the staff did maximum to make the stay as smot and fantastic as possible. We have 2 children 9+11 years old and they really love the poolarea, the beach and it is very close to the water sport center LSR were you can dive, go one jet scoter, boot rides. Whole family warmly recommend this hotel.

The location is just a few minutes south of central Bentota, with the beach and the Wave Beach Bar only a short walk away. The rooms and the surroundings are beautifully maintained with great care. The food is exceptional, offering a delicious variety of both Sri Lankan and Western dishes. The owner, Nelson, is incredibly helpful and has created a wonderfully charming atmosphere. The staff mirrors his attentive approach to customer care. We spent five nights at La Perla (two adults and one child, aged 4) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful homestay in Bentota. Olander and his family greeted us and responded to every request. Big clean room with balcony. Short walk to the fantastic local park and beach and Bentota train station. Best Sri Lankan breakfast with enough fruit for the whole day as a wealth of birds and chipmunks entertained us in the garden. Learned something about Sri Lankan culture and family life. Best way to immerse ourselves in our first stay in Sri Lanka.

Stayed here as soon as we arrived in Sri Lanka, the hosts are such wonderful people, we felt apart of the family. Incredible breakfast, room was very clean and comfortable. Short walk to beach (just across road). Host helped us organise some trips and even took us in his Tuk tuk, one of the best stays of our trip, very hospitable and friendly, would definitely recommend

This was the cleanest, best maintained hotel that we stayed in, in Sri Lanka. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The hotel is actually best known as a sea good restaurant, with most customers coming there to eat. And the food was excellent. Great facilities on the beach, which is groomed daily to make sure it is also clean.
