Located in the beautiful Tassaout Valley, the Gite is off the beaten track in a place ripe for exploration! The owner is super nice and can organise both short hikes and long treks in the mountains with visits to the beautiful villages in the area. He also cooks the best food we had on our trip in Morocco. Fresh and delicious. The facilities are adequate, don't expect fancy but it is clean and comfortable. Our family loved it and would definitely want to go back for more hiking.

The accommodation is magnificent, breakfast exceptionally rich, lunch is an option. Host also a traveler it was a pleasure to have conversation with him. House was warmed up when we arrived. Bed linen were soft. This was definitely I've of the best experiences in Marrakesh. For those who work remotely - the wifi is good and if you have time - please stay there and enjoy view, company and excellent accommodation. It would be a great co-working area as well, so you can drive from marrakesh for a remote hackathon. And then do some hikes as well - good for creative thinking)

We had such a great stay at Dar Megdaz. Mohamed went out of his way to take care of us. A story by way of example: two days before our stay, we found ourselves too tired to complete our hike to the hotel where we planned to stay the night before coming to Dar Megdaz. On a whim, I contacted Mohamed to see if he could arrange car transport. At the time, we had no idea what we were asking of him. It turned out that part of the road he had to travel was almost completely impassable by car--it was on a rocky creek bed and over steep, unpaved hills. We could not believe that Mohamed came, as he had said he would. He didn't even ask for payment but said guests were like family. And that's just how we felt every moment of our time at Dar Megdaz. Beyond the OUTSTANDING staff, Dar Megdaz is so lovely and comfortable. We appreciated the delicious and beautifully presented food, the serene covered outdoor patio overlooking the mountains, and the quiet, cool room--it was the heat of summer but our room in the basement stayed very cool. We also enjoyed Mohamed's tour of this picturesque Berber village. Cannot recommend this place more highly.
