Roshan Jugroop collected me from the airport on arrival, gave me a mini tour enroute to his Jugroop Beach House in Baie Du Tombeau Road, Tombeau Bay. He came the following day and took me to the local Carrefour to stock up on groceries for the week. The location is in a quiet residential area but a short cab ride from shops and eating places. It is 25 minutes to Grand Baie (1300 Rupees). Beach access is direct and made through a secure lockable gate. Roshan gave me keys to all access points. The house is in good condition and was being fitted with new air conditioners and about to be painted during my stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the downstairs living area well furnished. There is no television but strong complimentary wifi streams uninterrupted. Downstairs is one double bed and separate bathroom. Upstairs are two rooms, one double bed with a shared balcony and master bedroom king bed with ensuite and a shared balcony. There is no swimming pool however the amazing beach is sandy coral and the water very shallow up to the reef about 350 meters out. You can fish on this beach and you will also find crabs in the shallows. However, note that the location is very close to Port Louis and a public area so privacy is limited. Ships anchor a half kilometre out. The neighbours were friendly, as were all the people met on beach walks. The road is a little bit busy and narrow to walk along but the beach is amazing, and you can walk a long up towards Cocotiers Hotel. Like all over Mauritius there are a lot of dogs around however they are friendly and from October 2025 all must be chipped by their owners. If you are looking for a typical non-immersive all beach stay this is not for you. If you are looking to experience real Mauritius at a very fair rate for accommodation, this is the place, especially a family that might be mixing holiday with work or business. Definitely hire a car if you can as exploring from here is easy to everywhere by highways and good roads.

The room is spacious, has a large balcony, a beautiful view, and there is a kitchen and kitchenware. The beach is only for sunbathing and relaxation. If you want to swim, you will have to walk or drive to another beach. A very good beach can be reached in 5-7 minutes by car. There are two types of breakfast: English and Continental. The choice is not large.

Thanks to the hotel as they upgraded to the next premium room which had a great view and espresso machine. The hotel was in a prime location accessible to most attractions of St. Louis by walk. The buffet breakfast had a huge spread and all were delicious. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was huge with nice tub with separate sections for loo and showers.

It was absolutely perfect, the location is spectacular, the room had breathtaking sea view, staff was lovely and friendly. All kinds of watersports available onsite, golf course and even a farm with horses and giant turtles. A la carte restaurants as well as buffet restaurant great, big surprise was special Easter Buffet. Would go back to the resort tomorrow!

The owner Me Mihary is very helpful.He gave an early checkin and clearly informed that the checkout time was 12 noon. He helped me with travel in the island by good advices. The hotel is near to bus station. For budget travellers this is a very good option. Central market, waterfront, the museums and everything is walkable. Beaches are just less than one hour in bus and may be 30 minutes in cab. Best value for money. Loved Mauritius and the stay

There is zero reason to stay here. You can’t access the beach here and the ones you can are trash. Stay in the south or grand Baie. Do not stay here. It’ll cost you so much more and you won’t get to experience the beauty of this country if you do
