Everything at Tamarina was amazing! The staff were friendly, rooms were comfortable and the beach access was wonderful. Beautiful views and a great central area. We will definitely be going back for another trip. Food was delicious and the beach bar area was a great way to enjoy sundowners overlooking the beach and mountain.

Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent, just across the street from arguably the best beach in Mauritius. While the food choice was not over the top, the quality of food was excellent, including tuna, prawns, octopus, squids, and crab soup for dinner.

The staff was simply amazing. We had previously booked at a different place nearby and we was extremely disappointed. Our taxi driver told us about Aanari and they were kind enough to accommodate us at the very last moment and made us feel so comfortable. A great guy, Nathan who is an employee at Aanari Hotel was kind enough to navigate us through the country! Bonus points just because Flic en Flac Beach is just opposite the road with many food outlets and ATM's plus the bar at night is such a vibe.

I really liked Celine and Christophe. They are cool people. They clearly wanted me to feel welcome. Oh, and I didn't mention that they are 5 minutes away from the beach AND they have their own really cool pool.

The staff were exceptional and so welcoming, as other reviewers have said it is the staff that make the hotel memorable. They go above and beyond to ensure each guest is happy. The sea view is also absolutely stunning and we definitely recommend having both breakfast and dinner there. We also loved how the hotel felt cosy and it was easy to get around. Some people have said that the rooms are a bit dated- this may be the case compared with other luxury hotels however the sand suites rooms are clean and well maintained, and I would say that the design fits the island vibe nicely.

Wonderful and hospitable host! Very welcoming, kind, and welcoming! Always available – especially for urgent matters. The apartment is wonderful! Nice beach , lots of trips available . You really need a car or book trips if your staying any length of time as nothing much else to do . No nightlife during the week only Friday and Saturday otherwise everywhere shuts at 10pm

Lovely resort. Great beach. Gets very crowded at weekends. The beach is not quite as good as some of the beaches in the north, but it is still beautiful. Quite upseting to see the amount of litter left on the beach and traffic around the resort was sometimes an issue. But the location is great and the western sunsets are stunning! Our favourire restaurant was Mosaic, serving typical Mauritian food alongside a standard menu with burgers, pizzas and pasta with friendly service from Daniel and team. Casela Safari Park nearby is a good day out, and a day trip to the east to visit Iles aux Cerfs was a highlight of our stay.

The beach outside Sands and the other hotels are beautiful, unspoilt white sands, however the public beach part further north is busier with people and cars on the road, and lots of fast food vans, cheap bars etc.

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius,...

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.

We liked our chosen accommodation, we had a good view of the beach from our balcony, the staff were great and we want to go back to sample lunch at the Creole Shack! The beach was lovely and safe for swimming and there was a good variety of eateries from beach stalls to high end restaurants and all manner of cuisines. Everything is in walking distance and four km in land there is a very large mall being built and a new state of the art hospital. We will definitely be going back.

Owner was there to meet us and showed us around and made us most welcome. Also kept in touch during our stay to ensure all was okay. Plenty of bars and restaurants very near - most of very good standard. Easy walk to the beach. Very large pool - which was very refreshing after a hot, sticky day out. For location and facilities it is very good value for money.

We stayed in the cottage which was perfect for our tour around Mauritius. This boutique hotel gave us a base to visit the sites such as Casela Nature Park, Black River Gorge and Grand Bassin. Our cottage provided some self-catering facilities and a lovely place to sit and watch the activities in the bay. We loved relaxing by the pool and watching the sunset.

Clean and spacious place. You can park just in front of the door. It’s a very quiet place and the is a baobab tree nearby. Hi speed internet, comfortable beds, washing machine, etc. Everything looks perfect and new. Ketan, the host, is very friendly and helpful. No doubt one of the best places to stay in Mauritius.

Quiet area, good parking, large rooms and bathroom. Comfy couches and large TV. All kitchen appliances available except from a dishwasher (which isn’t common in Mauritius). AirCon in all rooms.
