We prefer one of the water-view balcony rooms in the main building. If those are not available, we were very happy to get our other choice: the downstairs terrace room in the attached building, especially now that I have trouble walking. We (3 Bergman families-gezinnen) have been coming to Princenhof since about 1984. My mother was the first one of us who came for Skutjesilen from Florida and discovered the comfortable viewing of he Race at the Princenhof. The restaurant and bar with its spectacular view are excellent. We are especially delighted with local Friesian breads/koek for breakfast. The Desk Staff and the dining room staff were extremely helpful when we needed some assistance and information. Looking forward to the next stay....

Absolutely lovely hotel, right on the dock. Excellent staff, and outstanding cappuccino in the morning with breakfast. Lovely location, near Groningen and not far from Amsterdam and Rotterdam but the hotel itself is in a gorgeous, rural area. There is very little parking at the hotel itself, you’d have to be pretty lucky to be able to snag one of the few spots available and you can’t park along the street around it because they’re for residents, but there is ample free parking at the town centre parking lot just a few hundred feet up the street, so don’t worry. This is a lovely little hotel!
