We loved the quiet and picturesque location, on a dike overlooking an open field. The host was lovely and kindly advised us what we could do in the neighbourhood. The room was spacious, clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast, served in the room, was very tasty and sufficient. We will try to return soon to this lovely accommodation!

I recently stayed at Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The hotel is modern, spacious, and immaculately maintained. My room was large, with a comfortable bed, stylish décor, and a spotless bathroom equipped with a rainfall shower. Small touches like the coffee machine, generous desk space, and quiet atmosphere made it perfect for both work and relaxation. The breakfast: unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to try the breakfast. Location-wise: the hotel is just outside the city center, making it easy to reach by car with free parking, yet only a short drive or bike ride into Leeuwarden’s charming old town. What stood out most was the staff: friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to make guests feel welcome. From check-in to check-out, everything felt effortless and well-organized.

The hotel is centrally located to everything you need and walking the entire area is super easy to navigate. It took only minutes and I was down at the canals and the shopping/walk ways. My room was quiet, spacious and clean, the bed ultra comfortable (can’t remember when I slept that well in a hotel), had a refrigerator that worked, a coffee maker and a water kettle. I will definitely stay again.
