Tungestolen is amazing! Jorn is a gracious host with mad cooking skills! Our family was thrilled with our stay here. Complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We paid extra for dinner both nights and it was well worth it. The views everywhere are incredible, the facilities very clean. When we weren't hiking, we relaxed in the main building with endless coffee, tea, and serenity.

this place is such a gem. located between the mountains with stunning views of the mountains or fjord. short walk to the fjord. our cabin was perfect, had everything we needed and beautifully designed. the hostess/owner greeted us when we arrived and explained where everything is. it's a perfect stop to break a long drive to/from Bergen. I wish we could stay longer. there's really nothing around so stock up on anything you need before arrival. highly recommend this place. one of our favorite of the trip.

Host was kind and informative. Bikes and helmets were free to use so had access to the two glaciers in the area as well as the town. Joker store in town to well equipped with food to prepare in campsite kitchen. Food is available at the museum as well. The glacier museum was well done and informative. Stayed in the dorm and had it to myself as it is getting close to the end of the season.

This was the best lodging on our holiday. Large, bright, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with high quality cookware. The large bathroom had a strong shower and heated tile floors. The deck outside would br a great place to sit/eat in the summer.

Absolutely stunning period property and the oldest known hotel in Norway. There are antique and vintage marvels to discover in every nook and cranny of this place. The welcome is warm and homely, the evening meal consisted of wonderfully honest and simple Norwegian dishes, made with love and care according to family recipes. The rooms were quiet and the bed super comfortable. The new owner took the place over only a few months ago and I would urge anyone considering this hotel to ignore all online reviews of the place dating back to beyond the past year. This is a real gem. I’d love to come back.
