We spent three nights at the Chital Lodge and we just loved it. When we arrived, we were very warmely welcomed by Bishnu. We got delicious lunch (we had all meals at the lodge breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything was delicious) and went on a Jeep safari right away. It was amazing, the nature, the animals the sunset, it was a beautiful afternoon. The next day we went on a boat safari and walked through the National Park for the rest of the day. Bishnu is very experienced and therefore we felt very save and we saw a lot of animals and birds. It was an amazing experience. The last day we strolled through the village and had another Jeep safari after lunch. Throughout these days we saw many rhinos and baby rhinos. We saw monkeys and beautiful birds, deers, crocodiles and even a wild boar. We were looking for an experience away of the big tourist lodges/safaris and found a jewel. The accommodation is very basic, but we spent most of the time on safari or in the dining area anyway, where everyone meets. Thank you Bishnu and your family for this unforgettable experience.

The location it's perfect you are really close walking to the town so you escape from the noisy main street. You are surrounded by beautiful rice fields. It's a familiar business and they are all really warm and help with all the guide and tours that can be done at chitwan. Excellent breakfast ready to start the day and they also prepare it depending on your activities (never seen this in all my bookings in Nepal). Plus they have the loveliest dog ever !!

We spent three nights at the Chital Lodge and we just loved it. When we arrived, we were very warmely welcomed by Bishnu. We got delicious lunch (we had all meals at the lodge breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything was delicious) and went on a Jeep safari right away. Bishnu is very experienced and therefore we felt very save and we saw a lot of animals and birds. It was an amazing experience. The last day we strolled through the village and had another Jeep safari after lunch. Throughout these days we saw many rhinos and baby rhinos. We saw monkeys and beautiful birds, deers, crocodiles and even a wild boar. We were looking for an experience away of the big tourist lodges/safaris and found a jewel. The accommodation is very basic, but we spent most of the time on safari or in the dining area anyway, where everyone meets. Thank you Bishnu and your family for this unforgettable experience.

The only reason to stay in Chitwan is to visit the national...

The only reason to stay in Chitwan is to visit the national park, however, you can easily be ripped off by local guides and tour operators. Just shop around and remember that Jeep Safaris are a rip off because chanches of seeing any wild animal are extremely slim andyou end up spending 4 boring hours getting around the park. Make sure you know all options and talk to locals and tourist to find the best tour. I also recommend to visit the Tharu people site and see their dances, which is the best experience I had in this place

Make sure you visit the animal friendly project Stand Up 4...

Make sure you visit the animal friendly project Stand Up 4 elephants! It’s free and you meet two rescue elephants ladies :) We did a full day jeep safari and a half day jungle walk+canoeing. We were lucky and saw a bear, a bison, wild elephants and rhinos. Lots of colourful birds, crocodiles, monkeys etc. but you need luck to see the big animals. It’s sad that it is allowed to ride elephants in the Nationalpark what is an absolutely animal crime and the idea of a Nationalpark is to protect animals and nature. Also, to make more money, they let start five jeeps with one or two guests in it instead of putting them together. So they need to make more efforts and be more eco friendly. It worth a visit when you are already in the country and have time. But two days are enough.

It was my second visit to Chitwan.

It was my second visit to Chitwan. I'll be returning again soon, to see more of what I haven't seen yet. I've, the crocodile breeding centre and the elephants. Plenty of places to choose from for meals. Easy to walk around the town, apart from where the streets are being improved. Plus, even when many tourists there, it doesn't seem crowded. Pleasant weather during my time there. Plus, I managed to see several football World Cup games, at different bars/restaurants.
