I liked that it was close to town and yet it felt rural and had beautiful open space with heaps of flowers and gardens

From the very first moment I made my booking, I was impressed by the quick and thoughtful response from Shardul. He guided us all the way from Kathmandu, offering several travel options to reach Bardia. We chose to fly, and he kindly arranged our flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj at a very reasonable price. When we landed, he was already there to welcome us with a warm smile and had arranged a comfortable jeep for our drive to the homestay. Meeting him in person was a pleasure — calm, friendly, and incredibly professional. After a scenic drive of about one and a half hours, we arrived at Bardia Eco Friendly Homestay, and our first impression was beyond expectations. The property is peaceful and beautifully maintained, with spacious, spotless rooms and a stunning garden that looks magical under the evening lights. We were warmly welcomed with flowers by Shardul’s wonderful parents, Basu and Sarita. Basu, a teacher, shared interesting stories about Bardia National Park, while Sarita — an exceptional cook — served us some of the best home-cooked food we had in Nepal. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel truly at home. Shardul also organized a walking safari for us, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. With his deep knowledge of the jungle and its wildlife, he guided us safely and confidently through the forest. We were incredibly lucky to spot three tigers and eight rhinos — a once-in-a-lifetime experience! We also spent one night in their treehouse, surrounded by nature — peaceful, adventurous, and unforgettable. Our stay at Bardia Eco Friendly Homestay was simply exceptional — filled with warmth, comfort, and genuine care. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a home where guests are treated like family. Thank you, Shardul, Basu, Sarita, and Anku, for your heartfelt hospitality. You made our time in Bardia truly special, and we can’t wait to return someday.

We spent 4 days at Wildlife Planet and we definitely hope to be back one day. Lovely to walk around the area, tranquil place if you want to relax with spacious outdoor areas to do so, great food & very close to the National Park Entrance. Baba and all the guides' passion for wildlife and conservation were heartwarming to observe and admire. They definitely try their best to show you the wild, without being invasive to the wildlife and always respectful. Best wildlife experiences ever 😁! Also, appreciated the ecofriendliness not only in name; packed lunch during tours with no plastic and reusable stuff, refillable water available & encouraged. I hope the whole area remains this sustainable for years to come.

i spent a good stay in that nice family. nanu and his wife kali take care of you very well. she cooks a delicious dahl. And nanu explains you how the safari goes to happen. he will be your guide during the safari. i did safari walking and jeep. i saw tigers/rhinoceros/elephants/snakes/monkeys...). good price!! there are 2 or 3 rooms. usually not a lot of people. big room with mosquito net, fan ceiling and your own bathroom. it was clean. nothing to say. i paid 210€ in all : for 4 safaris walking and 1 safari jeep, meals, free water bottles, room. 8.5 days!! safari begins at 7am and finishes like 6pm. bardia park is good if you want to avoid the tourists like in chitwan. so lets go to nanu homestay if u want a very good experience in a local family instead a ressort expensive and without contact with the owner.

Best homestay ever!!!!!! Mukti and Renuka are the most lovely people, they made our stay just terrific! The local and organic food from the garden was amazing. Mukti is the best safari guide you can ask. We enjoyed every minute in the week we spent there.

It was great, my original plan was to stay 3 nights and I like it so much I stayed 7. The owner Krishna and his family, helps me with everything I needed, if it’s information, food, laundry and more. And Krishna was my guide, he knows the park so well we saw tiger almost everyday thanks to him. The room is big and clean. Highly recommended

Very nice vibe and great to relax. You can arrange a lot of activities to the national park such as walking and jeep safari and bird watching. The owner Sonya is super helpful and kind. I really enjoyed the 6 nights I stayed here.

My husband and I are our breakfasts every morning and we're outside, weather permitting. The food is made to order and our coffee is brought out as soon as we sit down. We are vegetarians and LOVE Hira's Kitchen! The staff are very accommodating. Also, the guided jungle Safari was amazing!
