We liked everything Matakauri had to offer. The staff were more like friends and treated us like family. Sitting in the lounge in front of the fireplace enjoying the view of the mountains was absolutely stunning. AND the food was fabulous!!

The room was just amazing, very large with fire place and balcony, great view view and free mini bar including Nesspresso, big comfortable bad and also big and comfortable beds, everything was perfect, also valet parking available. Rooms were large, with a small patio including chairs, and gave a great view of mountains. Beds were very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Happy hour in the lounge every day for free, with a choice of wines and beer together with snacks. This felt more like staying at a friend's home rather than a hotel. Highly recommended

Great location, very comfortable hotel. Lounge area, with a happy hour from 5 to 6pm., so we got to meet and chat with other guests - great idea. The Bespoke Kitchen is next door, so if you need something more than the hotel's continental breakfast, you just pop across the road. Lovely hotel to stay in, we left to stay in Glenorchy for 2 days, and the hotel stored our big cases til we returned for another night. Perfect service.
