Our stay on Residencial Douro was amazing. Suzana was a wonderful staff, always ready to help and super friendly. The room is fantastic, so big and with a wall between the double bed and the single bed. The balcony is huge and has an amazing view. The location was super as well, very close to the Rio Douro and easy for a nice walk through the river. The city center is ~10 / 15min away, what was very ok for a walk through the city. It's also a very safe place. I highly recommend this place

Great jumping off point for Douro River and wineries. Pleasant train ride to get there from Porto. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance around the town and boat trips from the pier. Short train ride to next town and winery tours.

Our host Margarida met us at the door and showed us our rooms while explaining everything we needed to know about our stay. The large bedrooms had stunning views, soft beds and big toilet/showers. Every morning the breakfast buffet offered a variety of fresh food with local and homemade treats. Margarida would chat with us and the other guests, offering ideas and suggestions for places to see, eat and things to experience. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, fruit trees, pools and terraces. Luis hosted a fun and insightful tour and wine tasting of his own products, something I will recommend experiencing. The Casa is located peacefully (sounds from the highway were minimal) and the Douro valley itself offers so many stunning views. An amazing place to slow down and truly relax. During our stay my dad lost his credit card and the staff managed to locate it at a nearby town and mailed it home to us. While in Portugal we stayed in four places, and Casa Do Romezal was by far the best. My parents and I would love to return and will warmly recommend it to friends and family :) Plus they have the sweetest cats (from a dog person)

On the river and so a nice setting.

On the river and so a nice setting. Useful base for exploring the Douro valley. The Douro museum is excellent. A range of places to stay and plenty of restaurants and good wine tasting opportunities. Aneto is very good. Good for the Linho do Douro - the train trip upstream is beautiful. Good road connections to other places.

The ultimate best vineyard we visited was Gueda (Vilarinho dos freires) both in terms of port wine and experience. Luís serves a plate of appetizers along with the wine and port. His portions are the most generous we had. To plan a visit, send an email through their website and Luís will answer instantly. He can provide the phone number of an excellent taxi driver (Antonio). Luís is very entertaining and enthusiastic about his art. He takes you in the middle of the vineyard (a very short walk) and to the tasting room. It’s the best experience we had in Régua. :)

The area is beautiful with friendly people and very good restaurants. Plenty of places to stay but highly recommend Casa da Azenha. They make you feel like family. The wineries in the area are full so make sure you make reservations. It's worth the trip

Peso de Regua was ok but it seemed like a place of missed...

Peso de Regua was ok but it seemed like a place of missed opportunities. So many places where there could have been really lovely restaurants and bars overlooking the river. We did go to a fantastic local restaurant called Restaurante Vila Douro Regua above the town and a 15 min walk from the Casa de Sao Domingos.

Everything about this place is amazing and beyond expectations. The host Margarida has done an exceptional job at renovating a family home to welcome you. We loved her genuine friendliness, advice and honest chats about living and growing up in Portugal. Her brother, Luis has an informative, unique and tasty wine tour experience on the property. Don't forget to book this. The quality of sleep and breakfast is top star! and the wines and olive oil are so good too.

Absolutely amazing place to stay during wine tasting tour in Douro Valley. Super friendly and warming people met us there, we were advised about the best wineries to visit and restaurants for dinner, it helped us a lot with planning our trip around. Hacienda itself is a beautiful house with lovely garden, really calm place 5 min driving from the city with a lot of restaurants and Lidl. Hotel has free parking space.

Very spacious apartment with stunning views of the Douro river and surrounding countryside. The property was tastefully finished and very spacious having a lounge area, dining table and full kitchen facilities. With fabulous restaurants close by this is a fabulous place to Holiday. We only spent 2 days here but if going again would stay longer at this outstanding accommodation.

Very comfortable room (also very clean) only a short walk from the bus/train station. It's also just across the road from the pier where the Douro River Cruises depart. Breakfast was great and our hosts were very accommodating.
