The hotel is on the outskirts of the old walled city of Obidos. It is a short 8-10 minute walk to vist the restored castle and city walls which are worth a visit but lacking in any safety features such as hand rails - in fact any rails at all, The hotel was well equipped and it had a very nice en suite which was tidied along with the bed and the room every day. There was a seating area outside and the breakfast was a buffet style affair with the usual array of brad, pasteries, cakes cold meat cheese etc. The breakfast room was a little impersonal and rather dull in terms of decor but we did not spend much time in there. Obidos itself was totally over run with day trippers being bussed in all day long. We enjoyed visiting in the evening and seeing the streets and the historic sites with a lot fewer people around. We would suggest if you do go to Obidos DO NOT stay in the old city it is very crowded, very "fake", very tourist orientated (lots of cheap tat for sale).

The property was absolutely wonderful. It has a great breakfast. There was a restaurant on site with happy hour. The staff were amazing. We had trouble getting a taxi to the train station so one of the employees drove us.

The breakfast was AMAZING. Beautifully presented, delicious, relaxing in a very nice room. We wanted to linger and enjoy the ambience. On the evening of our arrival, we were invited to a welcome reception in the ‘lobby’ area (which was so homey - in a medieval way- with the fireplace lit in a rainy/windy night. We enjoyed a glass of wine and light snacks and got to meet other traveling couples - one from France and the other from Austria. We saw them the next day at breakfast which was nice. The location just below the man gate was nice for when we walked to dinner (in the rain). It was an evening for soup, and the lady at the front desk called around to find a place that would make a carrot-less soup (food allergy). Just can say enough about this stay! Would definitely stay here again.
