The castle is pleasant and worth a visit.

The castle is pleasant and worth a visit. The Telecabin is weather dependent and expensive so choose your dates, and be wary of queue times. Otherwise the village is run down, with little to do and feels very neglected. Nicer to find a trail and go walking. Glad I went but one day was more than enough - sorry!

We only spent one night in Busteni, in order to visit the...

We only spent one night in Busteni, in order to visit the Cantacuzino Palace. Our impression was that the resort is not very well managed -- some roads were under construction with very little signage or access instructions, a lot of restaurants appeared on the map but were in reality closed for good (not just for the season). In fact, we weren't able to find one with a terrace, to have lunch, and driving around is not an option -- the main street is always packed with cars back to back. We managed to visit the Cantacuzino Palace, but only because we got there before they opened -- it seems part of the Netflix series Wednesday was shot there, and now the palace has accrued the Netflix kind of fame. There were several huge busses filled with Ukrainian visitors at the gate. When we got out, after the visit, the queue was at least a hundred people long (and that's without counting the organized groups, they had separate access).

Bușteni really is a gem in the Prahova Valley.

Bușteni really is a gem in the Prahova Valley. Its relatively flat layout compared to nearby towns like Sinaia or Azuga does make it more walkable, especially for longer strolls without steep climbs. Being right at the foot of the Caraiman Peak with the Bucegi Mountains towering around gives it that dramatic, postcard-perfect backdrop. It's no wonder the town has become a favourite for both hikers and casual visitors alike. If you're up for it, the hike or cable car up to the Heroes’ Cross on Caraiman is well worth the effort—stunning views from up there.

If you're visiting to go see the mountains this is a great place. If you're looking for a city to walk through and do stuff in, it's almost useless. You can find good food, sure. But nothing to do in the city, per say. The attraction comes from the amazing mountain routes.

Beautiful Bucegi mountains views everywhere!

Beautiful Bucegi mountains views everywhere! That's why people come here! But you have to put up with bad traffic, especially weekends! It can be a great hub for quick trips around to Sinaia, Predeal, Brasov and of course Bran Castle! Good food to be had, @ La Etaj, Casa Ancutei, Casa Magical!

Great hosts always available and very accommodating ; quiet,comfortable and clean; the view of the mountains is superb; within walking distance (max 10 min) to a very good fish restaurant. Advice: if you come in peak season bring a car. The property is almost midway between Busteni and Sinaia and taxis will be a challenge to find when roads are busy. We knew this upfront (was a trade we were happy to make for a quiet stay). Walking to Busteni is easily doable for pleasure but not for groceries or returning from dinner.

The hotel is very rustic and enjoyable, spacious and in the middle of nowhere so you are able to enjoy the nature and the silence. The staff is nice and helpful. The location is exactly what you would call a lodge in the mountains. Plenty of parking and woods trails to explore.
