It is a simple bu cheerful affair. Oldfashioned, straightforward place for families. There is a warm pool outdoors, very good restaurant, great breakfast, nice bar. It is very Swedish :) but also somewhat nostalgic with hints of 80’s or even 70’s.

Just 5 minutes’ drive from Ljugarn village on Gotland’s east coast, this B&B offers bicycle rentals, a summer café and a garden terrace. WiFi and parking are free.

We got a 2-bed room, with hangers for coats, a small cupboard, and a drawer. The toilets and showers are clean, but the toilets do not have a bidet spray (common in europe, i assume). The breakfast was great too. Got to taste spray cream. There is a kitchen too, if you want to use it. There is an ice hockey stadium at the place, and it was nice to watch the sport. The property is 10mins from ica maxi supermarket, where there is also a bus stop, that takes you to the visby bus station, from where you can get to the airport. There is a horse stable on the way too. If you are going to old city, there are a large number of apple and pear trees. I am surprised they didn't serve apples in the restaurant.

Staffs are kind and helpful and the room was cozy. Nice breakfast made of local products.

Lovely hotel for our two-nights break in Visby. The owners and receptionist were all lovely, super helpful. They booked a taxi for us to pick us up from the ferry and bring us back, so that was great. We had a choice of gluten free bread at breakfast in the morning which was very much appreciated. The room we had was great, immaculate, super comfy bed and lovely medieval style with a view on the church. The hotel is very central in old Visby, you can walk everywhere. There are tables outside to enjoy the sun. We didn't try the bar area but it looked like it had a nice choice of drinks.

Kalk Hotel is boutique hotel located on Strandgatan, in a beautiful building from the 17th century, carefully renovated with a stylish interior and Gotland details.
