I booked Maison Fimela after travelling in Senegal for two weeks, wanting to end the trip by visiting the UNESCO listed Saloum Delta. I’m very glad I did. This was the best accommodation I stayed in, with the best food and hospitality of the entire trip. The place feels like an oasis for birdwatching, and I especially enjoyed meditating and listening to the birdsongs. Nature focused travellers will love it, and the Saloum Delta itself is not to be missed (although I saw more birds in the lagoon in front of the hotel than during my delta excursion) Chloé was very helpful in organising my excursions and arranging a taxi to the airport. I have no complaints at all and was very happy with my stay.

Room was big enough and clean, with everything you need. Air conditioning working good even though it was not so hot, so didn't use it much. Matress and pillows are quite hard, but I kinda liked it that way and had a good rest there. Furniture is a bt old, but as I only stayed there 2 nights and spent most of the time during the day outside it's not really a thing that would bother me. WI-FI was working good. Pool was not in use at the time I was there, but was still nice to chill with some beers around the pool in the evening. Staff (I believe it's Lika and her family) was very friendly and helpful. As she went to Dakar on the same day I did she invited me to go with her driver to Mbour and from there we shared a sept-place to Dakar so it saved me a lot of time and money if I would have to do the trip alone. None of them speaks much English, but we managed to understand ourselves just fine with their little bit of English and my little bit of French. They organise various tours (I did half day Saloum Delta with Mar Lodj). Food was amazing and portions are huge; I don't know if there was a menu, Lika just asked what I want and she made it. Breakfast was also very good, even got some extra eggs. Location is super quiet, couple of 100m from the main road. There's no lights on the way in the night but I didn't feel unsafe.

Fantastic bungalow with a terrace overlooking the pool. A very comfy bed and really well-appointed room with a luxe bathroom and air con. Beautiful artwork on the walls. Great central location in Ndangane. Staff super-helpful and friendly.

Very friendly people and an authentic place in the mangroves. A tour through the mangroves is a must-have for every nature lover. An enormous variety of birds can be found there and if you are lucky you can also see dolphins. The view of the mangroves and the tides make the hotel a great place. There is a small jetty right near the hotel from which you can watch the sunset. The food is fresh, simple and delicious. Nothing is missing. We were treated well in English, although a good knowledge of French is generally useful for Senegal. A nice place to spend a few days!

Exceptionally friendly owners, I felt like being at home with family/friends. Jospeh took me with him to visit the neighbourhood and made me feel more than welcome. He even helped me find my next accomodation in Mar Lodj. I would recommend the place 100% 🙏🙏
