Wonderful private beach and a beautifully peaceful location, though it is quite isolated from everything else (which can be both a good and a bad thing). The place is fairly new, so a few details are still finding their final form.

Basecamp is a beautiful place to stay on Mafia Island! The property is so stunning with views of the ocean and access to the beach. Our stay was very comfortable with lovely beds and bedding, our room was very clean and recently updated. The staff were all extremely welcoming and tended to our every need. We were greeted with a coconut to drink out of upon arrival as well as some local fruits. The breakfast was great with freshly made eggs however you like. The lunches and dinners were also really tasty. There is a bar at the pool, beach and restaurant which was convenient. The pool has a nice view of the ocean as well. The shuttle service from the airport was timely and convenient. We saw whale sharks snorkeling! We had our laundry done and folded, which was great. Our room was upgraded free of charge as there was availability, which was such a nice surprise as it has never happened to us before. Overall an amazing stay at a beautiful hidden gem, book it!!

Wonderful staff, excellent beds and a very nice swimming pool. The chef made some very good meals and the room was very spacious and very new. The staff is also very helpful if you want to explore the island. I can highly recommend Mafia Dream Hotel if you are looking for a place at Mafia Island.

nice, new and clean. the staff was very friendly and helpful. The place has only two bungalows that made this place unique for a relaxing stay. We did daily dives with the team that was very helpful and took us to some great places. the food was excellent and highly recommend. We hope to come back soon! big thanks to Gianna and the team.

The staff and surroundings were extremely friendly and open. Our room was perfect and simple for our stay on Mafia. The food served was very fresh and always on point. Another good thing is the location of the property, just at the beach, with beach lounges and activities in case you want to see some more than just being in the hotel. Since someone is always around you can be sure that all of your belongings are a 100% safe and you can even decide to leave your room open or leave your phones to charge somewhere out.

We had a wonderful stay with Antonia and Hamisi. The bungalow was so peaceful. It's tucked away in the forest, but close enough to town for an easy walk or quick boda ride. We loved the private outdoor shower beneath the big tree. We even saw a bush baby while eating dinner on the terrace. There’s a quiet, sandy beach among the mangroves just below the bungalow and they have stand up paddle boards which we took out to watch sunset from the water. Breakfast was great, with some of the best coffee we’ve had in Tanzania and Antonia had baked us fresh bread in the morning. We booked for one night and stayed for three but wish we’d had more time before our flight!

The location itself is very nice, staff and owners are very friendly, the whaleshark tour was good (the weather was bad and we didn't see whalesharks but they really tried their best).

The place was right on the beach with beautiful views. The rooms are basic but comfortable and good for the price. The owner PJ and the rest of the staff are really friendly and helpful. Best budget accomodation in Kilidoni.
