Good Chinese restaurant, China King.

Good Chinese restaurant, China King. Good cheese store, Carr Valley Cheese. Main Street a bit bleak, no trees. Kind of loud, popular motorcycle route, apparently. Bikers rolling through late into the wee hours.

Made a quick trip up from Arkansas for a family memorial...

Made a quick trip up from Arkansas for a family memorial service. Drove up on a Friday, checked in Friday evening and checked out Saturday morning, attended the memorial and then had to head back to be at work the following Monday. So, the trip was too short but it was some tough driving so the room with a clean, ,comfortable bed was truly appreciated. The hotel itself dates from the early 1900s and is loaded with character, but not the kind of character where you say that because there's nothing else to recommend the place, oh no. A look around makes it clear this place has been lovingly restored with great care to stay true to the original construction. It's quiet, comfortable and welcoming.
