Oak Mar Motel is located about 1/4 from Oakland, MD. on Route219. We have stayed here many times and it seems better each time. The staff is wonderful. Very accommodating. Our room was very clean. We requested a mobility challenged room on the 1st floor. Spacious room with walk-in shower, double beds, mini fridge, microwave. Beds and pillows were comfortable. AC was easily adjustable. Additional, Third St. Diner is on 1st floor of Motel. Very good home cooked food. Don't miss the dessert case. You should order 1 of each!! If you're travelling and need a place to stay, give Oak Mar your business. Youll Love it. We'll be back soon!!😎😎

Our son was at a work conference in Cumberland.

Our son was at a work conference in Cumberland. We decided to to meet him at Deep Creek Lake to go to a few places we like. Short Story Brewing is just down the road and Mountain State Brewing(on Sang Run Rd) isn't too far away. The room was very nice and comfortable. We used the hot tub, weather was a little chilly so it worked perfectly. We ate a late lunch at Firewater. It's on the water not too far away. Food is excellent and so are the drinks.

The family and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the ability to relax. The kids had room to play in doors and outdoors. The fireplaces were essential since it was the Fall. The lighting and high ceilings were a sight to see. The memories the family and I shared will be embedded in our hearts. In addition, the amount of space was suitable for a party of 12. The property mentioned a hot tube but there was not one on the property. Plus it was rainy and cold during our stay.

Tripped twice, going and coming Should be safety strips in walkway to facility. uneven, unsafe Beds to high. Very difficult to get into No chair in bedrooms. Difficult changing cloths

We love escaping to the mountains, but to be selfish-it probably isn't for you! Go to the beach! Seriously, it is getting a little crowded and overbuilt which is taking away from its charm. "Big money" building all around the lake, soon there will be no views of nature from the lake, just these ostentatious houses stating "smell my money"! The denizens of Garrett county are awesome, friendly, and accommodating, so if you come, don't be a jerk! Respect the place that you're going to, and don't bring your "home attitude" with you!

Deep Creek Lake has great water sports and going to the park...

Deep Creek Lake has great water sports and going to the park provided us with a very inexpensive beach afternoon at $5pp and clean w bathrooms and even snack stand. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Pine Lodges Steakhouse and burgers at Pizzera Uno (they were very good and enjoyed bar-side enjoying great bartenders conversations) then went next store to Noni Noni for drinks and the band enjoying it all outside with great views of the lake. Overall very family friendly and would encourage a stay plenty to do. Our next stay will be right on the lake which has the breathtaking views.

Breakfast was great for continental.... Proximity to lodge and hill and use of lockers were awesome. Beds were very nice. Service from front desk was fantastic and very receptive. Very amicable to offer extra blankets and towels etc. Front lobby is very nice and comfortable and a great spot to watch the game since the room tvs are tiny. Lockers are super amazing for putting skis in and the pool is awesome. I lovvved the ability to walk to the lodge restaurants from my room and browse the stores. Hotel was very clean.

It was very neat, clean, refreshing, great location, near stores and shops. Great location to look at the lake and mountains. A must if you ski or just want to get away and chill. The place comes with games and hot tub! My siblings loved it! Also it was Deep Creek 100th Birthday so that was a plus for us!

Awesome hotel, no complaints. Very cozy and stylish, beautiful views both of the lake and the mountain. Great breakfast and service in general. Staff very helpful and kind. Perfect choice for those that want to explore the region, especially for those who want to go skiing at the Wisp.
