Lomatärppi is one of the best places one can find! The cottage is amazingly arranged: you have everything you need: fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, sauna, all is very clean and cozy (decorations deserve a special mention!) Juha is a very considering and supportive host, whenever we needed something, he was there to help! He also picked us up in Utsjoki to give us a ride to the cottage from Utsjoki bus station and back when we left, this was really nice and appreciated! As for the location - our cottage was located right in front of the river which is a natural boarder to Norway, the mountain view is really beautiful and impressive. Nearby (3 min walk) there is a restaurant, so you can always go there for a nice dinner. On the territory of the accommodation there is a Northern Lights Tower, which is a place where all tour guides bring their guests. This gives a special mention - you don’t need to book additional tours to see the Lights, everything you need is right here! Juha has also arranged a shelter for 2 baby reindeers, they will not live there all the time, but it was amazing to see how well cared they are. Oh wow - that was one of the most amazing experiences we've ever had. It was absolutely amazing to be connected to nature and to disconnect from a stressful life. The location of the cottage was absolutely stunning - fully surrounded by raw beautiful nature and fantastic views. The wooden cottage itself was very cosy and contained absolutely everything for a comfortable stay. It was so charming to burn woods in the fireplace and enjoy a rustic sauna that we heated ourselves with wood logs in a separate small sauna house by the river. The hosts were super caring and kind, they were waiting for us in the cottage even though we arrived after 10pm. They showed us around and explained everything thoroughly: how to heat the cottage and the sauna, how to get water from the river etc. They kept checking on us daily as it was very cold between -25/-30 and brought additional wood the next day. Most importantly we saw amazing Northern lights during our stay. Oh man, that was something from another world - it was so beautiful, so special. The location of the cottage was perfect for seeing the Northern lights - in the middle of the forest, away from the artificial light - the nearest neighbour is 5km away. We loved this cottage and the whole experience so much that we cannot wait to experience it again in Summer this time - when it will be all green and full of Arctic flowers. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and tranquility.

House is just amazing, it has everything what one needs for super comfortable stay in a bit remote location. It is spacious, warm, with great sauna, cozy fireplace, well equipped kitchen and lot of space for guests belongings. Place has total privacy, stands right at the shore of the river but is still close to the groceries and gas station. Easy access to Norway and activities such as snowmobiling, husky, ice fishing and in the summer hiking. Owner is very responsive, check-in was super easy, everything was pripared for our arrival. If we were back to Utsjoki we would definitelly stay here again.
