This was the nicest place we stayed in Portugal. The house is gorgeous, and every view from the windows felt like a fairy tale. The location is convenient for hiking, with trailheads that are walking distance from the house. The breakfast that is provided is huge, and the bread was fresh-baked. However, I would probably arrive with some groceries for snacks, because the nearest full grocery store is in Seia. I think the only dinner option in town is at the resort, which is excellent and well-priced. The chef came out and gave us her recipe for the rice cooked in orange, which we are looking forward to trying out. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely, and Nuno especially was so helpful. The drive to the house was a little tricky, and he led us there so that we could navigate the turns. He had excellent advice about hiking as well.

We had a wonderful stay at William’s beautiful Quinta. From the moment we arrived, his warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome. The accommodations were cozy and well-maintained, and William went out of his way to ensure we made the most of our visit. We especially enjoyed the unique experience of feeding an ostrich and taking a lovely small hike around the property. Cozy cabin style accommodation, beautiful view, well equipped kitchen, and exceptional host who was very helpful. Also fresh baked bread delivery in the morning! Great spot to explore Serra da Estrela and the beautiful mountain region. Highly recommended for friends or a small family. It was good to have the garage for parking too.

We absolutely loved Casa da Cantareira! Such a cozy home and Loriga was a friendly mountain town to base our travels around Torre from, and had delicious places for dinner and plenty of shops to get our supplies. The fresh bread every morning was such a treat!
