Due to the time of year, first week in February, there wasn't anyone else in the area except for the home owner, whom we would see typically in the afternoon when we returned from our hike. The closest village was Prada Maguilla, which appeared closed down for the winter. The only 'residents ' we saw there were two friendly donkeys. If you have a chance to visit and are into hiking, I suggest the Puntal de la Mira hike, which provides the most amazing 360 views when you get to the top where the refuge is located. Be sure the weather is good if you're there during the winter months. Although we had a sunny day, there was some leftover snow and cooler breezes from time to time.
