They immediately treated us to tea and cookies in their inviting and cosy home, which was a lovely touch. Our room was beautiful with every convenience. I must mention that the breakfast was outstanding as was the warmth of our two lovely hosts. We learned much about the Scottish border towns!

Despite its peaceful rural location, Cringletie House is only about 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport. The convenient, yet secluded location makes the small country-house hotel ideal for a relaxing or romantic break. It is a fabulous old hotel that has a warm and welcoming interior and beautiful grounds. There were snowdrops everywhere! The staff are all very friendly and caring. We had booked the suite and it was amazing. The food is superb. Dinner is a tasting menu of 7 courses every night and each course was delicious and beautifully presented. The waiters with their white gloves were a lovely touch too! The hotel is very close to Peebles and there are plenty lovely walks in the area. The Tapestry of Scotland is a short drive away in Galashiels and well worth a visit.
