This was one of my best Hostel experiences, if not the best. The hostel is in a vivacious neighborhood, with shops, cafes, restos nearby, plus a wonderful city park with lots of green. The staff is extremely kind and competent. I stayed in the ballet room, which was my secret wish before check-in. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable and big. All other guests were respectful, which not only meant the maximum silence possible in the room but also that we left the bathroom clean. All in all, highly recommended!

It’s not an anonymous apartment in an anonymous block of identical apartments. It’s a one-off and has lots of nice touches, like milk in the fridge, some snacks, and a few useful things like salt and pepper. The kitchen has everything you’d need. Bettina, the host, is ever so friendly and helpful, providing me with an umbrella because of the weather forecast. The internet signal was good. Transport links are good with local trams, and Köln-Sud railway station is very close for trains down the west of the Rhine. The main railway station is an easy thirty minute walk away if you’d prefer not to use the trams.

The hotel is lovely and the reception staff were outstanding, especially Herr Laudenberg. The location could not be better, especially for visiting the Christmas markets. Rooms were nice and big, beds comfy, a nespresso machine was in the room too. We booked breakfast and it was brilliant and well worth the money. There is also a good bar for relaxing in the evening.

Good location, breakfast, nice hotel staff, a good option to get to know the locals living nearby. There are friendly 🏳️‍🌈 bars for men near the hotel.

The host was friendly, responsive, easy to take over keys and drop them off. The matrass and pillow were comfy. The shower pressure was great and the warm water comes immediately. There was a ventilator which is very important since keeping windows open was difficult due to noise and rain. There are plenty of garbage baskets, a shower gel and shampoo, towels, kitchen paper, coffee machine, microwave, small fridge with freezer. Great if you are out all day and don't spend any time in the room besides sleep. There is basic 2 plates, 2 cups, 2 bowls, 2 small pots and basic cuttlery, enough if you don't plan to cook anything.

A recently renovated property, City Apartment Cologne is situated in Cologne near Neumarkt Square Cologne, Saint Gereon's Basilica and National Socialism Documentation Centre.
