The hostel was spotless. It's obvious that someone is going around to the showers, bathrooms and common areas cleaning up every few hours. The rooms are very quiet. Somehow, in spite of dinner and drinks etc going on downstairs in the evening, the room was silent: no noise from downstairs could be heard.

I can't stress enough how good our experience was at La casa de la escritora. The room was VERY clean and organized. The host was very friendly and the location was just perfect - close to everything but quiet inside! The bed was comfortable and we had enough room for two people to manage their luggage comfortably, in addition to a small couch, a desk, and some kitchen appliances (fridge, microwave, electric kettle, coffee machine, dishware). We did almost everything by foot or bus (the #001 bus runs through Gran Vía and it's free). I would definitely recommend this place to other people and I will stay there again when I go to Madrid in the future.

We are Swiss, living in Barcelona, came as family with 3 teenagers for 2 nights. We received a warm welcome from the cleaning lady for the exchange of keys. The apartment is in an impeccable stage. (totally new) Very well decorated in a modern, simple yet well thought way. The location is great, in a trendy neighbourhood, further away from the main touristic streets yet right at the edge. Now in winter time, we found the climate in the apartment warm and well isolated. The overall temperature can be controlled over a simple thermostat at anytime, which is definitely an add. The windows are well isolated, keeping the apartment quiet from an (anyway) not busy street. (pretty much a pedestrian street) I realised that every rooms have AC, which will also allow to keep all windows closed in summer if needed. It’s therefore a very quiet apartment The host is responsive and gave us at top service. Anytime again!

One of the cleanest apartments Ive been so far. Really nice minimalist look but not a feeling of emptiness. Never waited for the bathroom and the kitchen had everything we needed and was spacious enough even when sharing. Really warm and comfortable room.
